Every club has a first round pick, Melbourne at the very least have pick 18.

Mr Miyagi wrote:Good. We don’t want Stengle when we want to build culture as well as a premiership team. Not worth the risk, especially from what I hear. He’s lucky he didn’t get jail time for the coke bust (reported in Adelaide it was coke).

By the way, how the duck did Melbourne score a first round draft pick?!
Melbourne traded out their future first rounder to buy into this draft.
The value is likely similar, it’s just that they are now participating late in the first round this year and at this stage, not participating in the first round in 2022.

People talk about Big Government...with Neville Jetta joining Collingwood as development coach, I thought what?
Another one? Feels like there's a helluva lot of support staff. I'm getting dizzy.
Isn't it time for this support team to wear a number on their back? Will they one day exceed the playing group in size?

Bulldogs went from 1,025 points to 1,524 with today’s pick swap. Darcy at #2 costs 2,014 and at #3 costs 1,787.

Pick 58 is worth 170 points. We trying to get Lipinski done with that.

Would give them 1,694 points amd would leave us 2,565 points.

And we apparently looking to trade our pick 22 for a 2022 earlier first round draft pick.
Daicos ... this is where he's at his best ... The Master!

There’s a new AFL initiative where both indigenous and female employees who are hired as part of a clubs coaching staff, are not included as part of the soft cap budget.
I’m assuming it’s why we have seen three indigenous appts in the space of a week onto various coaching panels. Burgoyne, Betts and Jetta have all taken on coaching roles at different clubs. You could easily argue clubs became under resourced very quickly on the back of Covid, so there’s also some making up for lost ground in these appointments. If it helps the kids develop quicker, especially ours, then it can only be a positive.

Your wish might come true - I think I read somewhere he will be playing VFL!

Perhaps an on field coaching role ala Tom Lynch at North

From what I heard and read, Jetta will play VFL.

Hawthorn said to be still pursuing an interest in Max Lynch. I’d be holding out for as high a draft pick I can get. Would rather it be Cox instead of Lynch because of the age difference. However securing Lipinski is the highest priority now so if the net points difference is zero for the effective exchange of Lynch for Lipinski it makes us a better club.

How about Lynch and pick 22 for Hawthorn 2022 first?

I wonder if we'd rookie-list Jetta, as a depth option?

Funny but honestly I was thinking along the same lines. Not a bad option as he has only just retired and won’t take long to get match fit. Interesting as to how his role as development coach actually “develops”

I'm not sure Jetta would offer much more benefit playing in the senior group as opposed to his role as a development coach.

He'll be playing alongside the young players in VFL where his experience and leadership will be valuable, but in the seniors, we have a few players already that offer that. If depth was tested and we needed to bring players in, I'd rather those spots go to young players pushing for opportunity over a rookie listed Jetta.

The main benefit in rookie listing a player/coach is to avoid their salary being included in the soft cap. This is irrelevant with Jetta for reasons that have been stated previously.

Supposedly the Hawthorn interest in Lynch all depends on Ceglar finding a new home and that seems likely, according to most.
He probably has a similar draft pick value to Krueger, in that they haven’t played much senior footy and are both similar ages.
Assuming one of Cox ( also for cap benefits ) or Lynch moves on, anything under pick 50 ( 273 points ) should be considered a small win for what we are trying to achieve. The end game is to save up just enough points to cover the Daicos bid without the need for pick #22.
The early swap of picks with GCS was genius and we now have that many different ways to skin a cat. I have no doubt we will come out of this trade period having done very well for what we gave up.

However hypothetically BK, if he played about 3 or 4 consecutive blinders, would you at least think about it? I would love his pace.

looks like we are trading pick 22 to Freo for pick 27 and future 3rd.
Just like that we are starting to top back up next years draft. And we are clearly not done.

Blokes like King/Montagna should have to respond now to their click bait commentary. They are supposed to be industry experts and they are either morons or deliberately mislead.
