That's the hurry.David wrote: What's the hurry to reopen, apart from the fact that everyone is sick and tired of the lockdown and Andrews is burning political capital? .
Dan signed up to the National roadmap, he's (sort of) following it, but people are well and truly over it.
They know that compliance has slipped, they also know internal polling is showing Andrews approval rating has dropped right back and with Perrotet making Gladys seem overly cautious, pressure is building.
People have different risk appetites and are at different stages of "over it"so while some may call for more caution, they're in the minority as long as NSW is opening up fully and cases keep going down.
I could also write a thesis on the inconsistencies in the Victorian restrictions but just CBF. It's chooklotto.

Well this weekend we can have 100 spectators and open the rooms and the canteen for cricket, but can't actually play...
But I noticed up in Albury-Wodonga they are kicking off this weekend and just playing the first month at the NSW grounds.
The simple fact is compliance has slipped and the more NSW opened up at 70% and Victoria stayed closed, the more the pressure was applied.
Plus I also think given what happened GF day, they realise there is no point whatsoever trying to keep people locked up on Cup day, it just won't fly. Much like how QLDs re-opening magically coincides with the beginning of school holidays...

Meanwhile, as of 11:59pm tonight, anyone from anywhere in NSW can enter Victoria without any quarantine requirement provided they're fully vasccinated, yet I'm fully vaccinated and can't legally go to my house in NSW.

I would agree with you, but I'm seeing the reactions from people. Some are outright hostile, others are having borderline mental breakdowns, and every space in between. I can discount the hostile ones but the ones who are shit scared, I feel for.Dave The Man wrote:They Know the Rules and they made there Choicestui magpie wrote:I'm playing whack a mole with making sure the workforce is vaccinated. Disclaimer, I don't have an issue with the mandatory vaccination order even though the implementation was woeful.

Absolutely, some people are literally terrified of taking the vaccine and are trying everything to avoid it but keep there job.

I was talking about the implementation of the mandatory vaccines for authorised workers, not the roll out, and I would have had the public orders prepared and ready to be signed along with the FAQ's and detailed info at the time of the announcement, not 5 days later giving businesses 4 days to implement the first stage. Fkm mayhem.Dave The Man wrote:

Victoria numbers
NSW numbersThe number of active Covid cases in Victoria has risen to 22,598 after a further 1841 positive results were added to the tally in the past 24 hours following 78,928 tests.
The Department of Health announced a further 12 people had died of the virus.
New data shows Victoria is on track to hit the 70 per cent vaccination threshold on Thursday.
I'm quite surprised that the NSW numbers keep going down. They must at least plateau soon with the reopening.NSW has recorded 283 new Covid cases and seven more people have died.
