their choice!
No, it's not. My local record store still can't open their doors, nor can any small retailer on my local strip. Why can't they have limited numbers come into their shops but pubs, restaurants and hairdressers can? You can also have 10 people visit you at home, and there's a phucking concert planned for 4000 people next weekend, but small retailers still have to wait until November 5.

So, while it's great that many people are free to roam, there are those that are still in lockdown, not due to anyone but Andrews refusing to differentiate between the small retailer and Harvey Norman.

I fail to see your point. Isn't exactly the same thing going to happen to rural and regional Victoria when we go to a single set of restrictions at 80%?

Probably, but once we hit 80% and all the state is under the same restrictions, pubs and cafes etc will only be open to fully vaccinated people, whereas today in rural regional Vic, anyone can go.

So exactly the same thing will happen here, the state will open up but rural people who aren't fully vaccinated will suddenly lose freedoms they'd been enjoying while Melbourne was locked down.

The main difference is, once NSW hit's 90% those restrictions stop but Dan is keeping them well into 2022 regardless as he wants only fully vaccinated crowds at the Boxing day Test, Australian Open and Grand Prix.

So apart from a bit of NSW bashing which I expect from P4S, I fail to see the point.

Freedom day this Friday :D :D
City and country Victoria will reunite under the same COVID-19 restrictions from Friday, the government has confirmed, and much greater freedoms will be granted once the state hits a 90 per cent vaccination milestone in late November.

The state is expected to hit a target of having 80 per cent of Victorians aged 16 and above fully vaccinated on Friday, October 29.

From 6pm on that date, the border around Melbourne will be dropped, allowing Victorians to travel anywhere in the state ahead of the Melbourne Cup weekend.

As outlined in the state's roadmap, masks will no longer be mandatory in outdoor settings where social distancing is possible and entertainment and retail venues can re-open from 6pm.
