The problem as I see it with young AFL players, is a sudden cash injection, a sudden raise in profile, and as much as I think they are getting enough guidance and warnings, clearly some still need to push it!

He knows he’s good, and he’s needed. However are we really pushing for top 4 now? Is it really worth sending a bad message to every player doing the right thing. Stevo is gone. One of the reasons is the potential trouble for another young gun caused by Stevo. For the life of me I still can’t believe they couldn’t get the dumb punk to pull his head in. But they made the 100% right choice everyday of the week. Cos he’s not fit to tie the laces of the other guy!

Superstars are all well and good but team comes first. Swan was a tool but he was a team player who bust his are’s on field.

In saying all that I’m guessing he gets off (not necessarily not guilty) and will play, albeit an interrupted preseason yet again. If so I expect him to damn earn it, and play as if he isthe luckiest dude on the planet, cos quite frankly, he’s one of em. Who wouldn’t love the chance to earn millions playing a game you love?

Dunno. Depends how you look at it. Drank, was aware enough that his drinks were getting stolen and aware enough to defend himself. Then still able to stay in the venue after. Seems to be able to handle his drink just fine.

I bet he wishes you were on the jury!

I’d suggest, whether under developed or not, his frontal cortex is going to be in for a rude shock when he next meets with Wright, McRae and co.
I don’t see the new broom pandering to him like the former regime did and that isnt a bad outcome, no matter how it plays out.

Can't be bothered looking up the specifics, but from memory, he was suspended for four weeks and had to complete a certain number of hours community service with the Salvos??? Also, some work as a builder's labourer? I read somewhere that he did further hours with the Salvos of his own accord.

We need to remember DeGoeys “ disappointments “ extend further than his after hours antics.
Here’s what we know after his six odd seasons at the club. He’s lied to the club, he’s been involved in many more off field incidents than most AFL players and historically he doesn’t present in peak physical condition. Given the fact that he’s making headlines once again for all the wrong reasons, I would say the club has continued to get the messaging wrong. While I’m not blaming the club for DeGoeys personal choices, I am saying the message( s ) delivered by the club didn’t get through. I’m not fussed about the terminology ( pandering, enabling etc ) but I do believe the best thing that can happen this time is that DeGoey will hear a different message from a different voice. If that doesn’t get through, then he’s simply a lost cause and we should look to cut our losses.

If Jordan gets the all clear in the U.S.A and makes it back home in december, do you think the club might review his contract and ammend it with clauses stating he must focus on his professionalism and change his attitude or he is out ? That is a nice way of saying stop being a party boy and attracting trouble. He could be such a good consistent player if he would just focus on his career. Have a life. Have fun. But focus on what is important to both himself and the team as a whole which is representing the club in a professional manner whether he is wearing the black and white on the field or just in everyday life itself. He has done well to train overseas , although i would question why it couldn`t be done here and employ Aussies. I have said from the start he may be innocent and i find it comical a few on here are driving the knife into him. He is not perfect ,but are we ? We all stuff up and this latest incident could turn Jordan out to be the victim and not the perpetrator ,so he needs our support and not people pointing nasty fingers at him.
