No, it isn't. Their views are asinine. They are the reason we need words like "asinine" in the language.

And your views are tainted by your personal vulnerability, accept it or not.

Sounds like good news, even if one expects it will placate few on the anti side:

There is, in this country, a staggering array of legislation protecting us all from discrimination. There are six different federal laws, plus one law in each state and territory. These laws prohibit discrimination in tightly defined aspects of life; employment, occupation, education, access to premises, provision of goods, services and facilities, accommodation, activities of clubs, sport, disposal of land, administration of government laws and programs, and requests for information.

... not everything is a personal protected attribute. For example, race (skin colour) is, but hair or eye colour isn’t. Having an impairment is, but being an annoying, belligerent idiot isn’t.

A lot of people think that when someone simply doesn’t like them, or doesn’t give them what they want, it is discrimination.

It is good news.

More oversight, clearer definitions. Still room for improvement but the changes make it much better than the first draft.

In other news,
Taxpayers are facing a hefty bill for rare but significant coronavirus vaccine injuries, with at least 10,000 people planning to claim under the federal government’s no-fault indemnity scheme.

Services Australia is building an online portal, to be launched next month, for uncapped claims above $5000 from those who suffered injury and loss of income due to their COVID-19 vaccine, with compensation for medical costs and lost wages to be paid by the government.
Now 10,000 may sound like a lot, but when considered against the number of vaccinations, it's not. A very small number will be for people who've had serious complications, most will be small claims for people who missed a day or two of work and are out of pocket.

https://www.theage.com.au/politics/fede ... 598yy.html

To put the numbers in context:
The Therapeutic Goods Administration recorded 78,880 adverse events linked to COVID-19 vaccination, representing a small minority (0.21 per cent) of the 37.8 million doses administered to 18.4 million people, by November 7. The vast majority of those 78,000 adverse events were mild side effects, including headache, nausea and sore arms.

Here's a sensible response to the bill that articulates some of its remaining shortcomings:

Completely reasonable action. Mind you, I wouldn't want to be the one telling those Maori protesters that they were idiots or asinine

Good article, which still highlights some deficiencies that the Andrews supporter deny even exist.

One of the more interesting parts of the bills is whilst SARC has the power to act, the Minister has the power to simply ignore their decisions and that can then only be overturned by a majority vote of both houses. So for anything SARC finds wrong, the only way it can be amended is if the government themselves admit that the Minister is out of control...

But unfortunately much like everything else the Victorian government has proposed these last few years, the Greens have simply rolled over and will let it pass as is...

The weather? Seasons?

Walked with my GF last night first time since last weeks drama filled walk, for the first time she was actually contemplating the vax. Itold her where junior bothers, and even sent her the booking link (chemist around the corner from us). Turns out she got it the next day! Her hubby just got it too! Just her son now!

Someone showed me their fake certificate, they look real, but obviously only in photos so not on the app, if someone checks properly.

Adem Somyurek returns to Parliament intending to block the Pandemic Bill

I see no chance Andrews will negotiate with Somyurek, this promises to get interesting. Pass the popcorn.
