I see no chance Andrews will negotiate with Somyurek, this promises to get interesting. Pass the popcorn.
Very entertaining, funniest part is Dan having his deal with the 3 devils meant he hadn't even bothered to engage with anyone else, I imagine on anything in the last 3 years, so now he's got to go crawling to them with his tail between his legs and most were pissed off. I think he's got 1 more person willing to talk, but of course Dan is unwilling to even talk to the opposition.

Anyway it'll be great to dump the mask tomorrow in most places, especially work!!!

Interesting analysis, do we actually need a pandemic bill when 90% >12 are fully vaccinated?

Being up in a border community, the differences between the two states is doing my head in.

Masks inside retail and checkins are required in both states so that's easy, just have to use the right app.

The NSW App has more functionality, letting you load digital licences and stuff, and lets you check in dependants, it also asks you to check out when you leave and needs a PIN to open it. So it will collect more accurate info than the Vic one but takes 3 times longer to check in which is not going to help compliance. The Vic one by comparison is quick and easy to use and they could always use data on the average time people spend in different shops.

In NSW you only have to show proof of Vaccination in pubs, cafe's etc and they're red hot on it. In Vic you have to show proof of Vaccination in all non essential retail but the only place I went to that checked was the mini Kmart

Yes as things could go Bad Again IF a new Variant is Born that the Vaccine has no Effect On.

Very Unlikely but could happen - Hopefully not though

I find the Victoria App Easy takes at most 30 Seconds to do. Only Problem would be IF you don't have Internet

Pretty demoralising news.

Seems like herd immunity is an impossibility and this will be endemic for years to come.

Yep, it's pretty depressing to think we will probably be in lockdown again when winter comes around.

I was shocked at the low vaccination rates, 66%. Sydney showed it works, I’ll go with sydney. And Melbourne now.

But those riots are out of control.

I was talking to a friend last night who works in an emergency department near me. Gees I can’t imagine, the things she had seen, maybe like road trauma school. People need to see the reality. Yes some reactions, even a couple of fairly nasty ones, but nothing like the covid cases. Instead of saying you can go for dinner, show them that.

Where does this end?

Yep, if we can get the fully vaxxed to 95% and keep it there with boosters there's no reason wht what's happening in Europe will happen here. The small % of unvaxxed will inevitably get immunity the hard way by catching it.

Another possible cause of Covid outbreaks in the Northern Hemisphere winter is Vitamin D.

While Vitamin D is not a cure or preventative on it's own, there's been several studies that show a correlation between low level of Vitamin D and getting infected with Covid.

Anyone not taking supplements in the UK and much of northern Europe would be likely Vitamin D deficient, which isn't a problem in an Australian Summer. So get outside, get some sunshine.
