Mild cough and aching body is me every morning, I'd get tested every day if that was the expectation.

Catching Covid is inevitable, while I'm 5G boosted I'm just getting back to normal as much as I can. Wearing a mask is a pain but a small price to pay. Did the Sunday Market cruise this morning again, stalls and attendance down from last week which was lower than usual. The Thomastown Market carpark has never been that empty on a market day.

Nevermind people, the curve has peaked and we're on the way back to something resembling normal where Covid is Endemic not Pandemic.

Yep, when I get a headache and a sore throat I think, is it Covid or the fact it hasn’t got below 35 degrees for the last 2 months and I’m hot, dehydrated, sunburnt and been wearing a damn mask!

It’s been a bit different with Covid being at its most threatening during the summer months instead of winter.

But thankfully I do have a good supply of RATs so about once a week i do one just to be on the safe side, usually when returned from Melbourne.

Not sure if anyone on Nick's has declared they have had COVID in the past (not sure why you wouldn't as no stigma should ever be attached) if not then it appears 2022 will finally be the year we break our cherry.

Well, here we are. Tested positive last night after having a mild cough and some muscle soreness. Wish me luck …

The 3,053 deaths from COVID are in a period where there has been around 320,000 deaths. So COVID currently represents less than 1% of all deaths in Australia over the past two years.

And with a population of 25 million, over two years, COVID has killed 0.01% of the population.

To give you an idea, if you knew everyone at a full MCG, around 622 of those people will die during the year, of which 6 will die from COVID.

The Cth Govt's site says: "As per the COVID-19 national guidelines, a COVID-19 death is defined for surveillance purposes as a death in a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case, unless there is a clear alternative cause of death that cannot be related to COVID19 (e.g. trauma). There should be no period of complete recovery from COVID-19 between illness and death. Where a Coroner’s report is available, these findings are to be observed." Nationally, 1,000 reported COVID deaths since 22 December. Hospitalizations and ICU admissions are up, nationally.

It took 17 months - from March 2020 to 30 August 2021 - to register the first 1,000 Australian deaths (from the original version of COVID and the variants pre-Delta). It took 3 months - from 30 August 2021 to 30 November 2021 to register the next 1,000 Australian deaths. In under 2 months since, total deaths in Australia have increased from 2,006 to today's 3,161.

As of 24 December 2021, close to 20 months into the pandemic, Australia had recorded a cumulative total of 282,000 cases for 2182 deaths.
Death rate 0.77%

In the month since then, we have added another 2 million recorded cases (the real figure likely double) for just under 1000 new deaths.

10 or 20 times the cases for half the deaths, to date.

Not a lot of data on that, NSW was providing some data on vaccination status of deaths Vic stopped a while back.

However, the profile continues that 20-30 make up the most cases and 70+ the vast majority of deaths.

They Just tell People who are Sick not to go out.
