Dyson Heydon tried to screw more than Unions and the ALP

Post by watt price tully »

High Court Judge who famously stated he was beyond bias has tried to f*ck with his asociates and not just his political opponents.

Well f*ck me

An Independent High Court invesigation has found the old f*cker was a f*cker, a letch, a sexual abuser and a sexual predator abusing his position of power.

I for one simply can't believe that a man who felt he could not possibly have any bias would think he's touching was untouchable.

One by one, Abbott's crooked cronies have their lecherous past exposed. First Pell, now Dyson Heydon. These things come in threes. So who's next? My money is on the big banana. Yes, Clownshoes himself.

How people like that can get away with it until they retire is just mind blowing. I know the legal professional isn't known for its morality but ethics and procedure seem to be pretty important. Like Harvey Weinstein the guy obviously had power to ruin careers but how could there be no recourse for these women until now? Isn't there character requirements to be allowed to practice law, like it doesn't take much to get disbarred or whatever the term is here.

Not sure what Abbott has to do with it beyond appointing him, not really adding much by bringing him into it. It's a long article and his name is nothing but a footnote.

I suppose, like when the long-since former author of Williams, Civil Procedure Victoria, had some "problems" with certain kinds of things he'd been looking at from the Web (as to which, see here: https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au/st ... hild-porn/), they'll probably get another author to edit Cross on Evidence when it goes to its 13th edition.

I think the legal profession is one of the last bastions of the entrenched boys clubs mentality with their elitist ways of thinking to be brought into the 21st century. This is exemplified in the hierarchical structure of the judicial system.

Do try to keep up. Abbott was the scumbag who appointed the scumbag in the first place. Abbott wanted a sham royal commission to stitch up Bill Shorten. Pure dirty politics from start to finish, and nobody does dirty politics like a New South Wales Liberal. There was never any chance that an honest investigation would do any harm, so Abbott called up his old hard-right crony and mentor, Dyson Heydon and tasked him with doing whatever it took to nail Shorten. Abbott and Heydon go way back; Heydon was instrumental in getting the young Abbott a prestigious scholarship in the early 1980s, and he remained active in hard-right political circles.

Heydon was willing and eager to be Abbott's attack dog, but after months of effort, even he could not overcome a complete lack of evidence of any wrongdoing and the whole plan came to nothing.

Great article on the notion of procedural fairness in an independent investigation:

And wait, there's more:

Former High Court judge Dyson Heydon allegedly sexually harassed young women while he was Trade Unions royal commissioner and at Canberra's exclusive Commonwealth Club where he stayed while on the High Court. in 2014
