^How do you think the Yanks would feel if Russia or China put bases in Cuba, Mexico or Canada? They freaked out when the Russians were going to put missiles in Cuba.

I had to laugh today when some American congressman said they would not tolerate Russia installing a puppet government in Ukraine. What about the puppet governments America installed in Iraq and Afghanistan?

^Stop parroting Chomsky blindly. Look at the facts: he has Crimea and two buffer states already. This is not about the US; that's Putin's con. Australians see everything via the US and the US of course sees everything as about itself.

So my opinions are parroting. But yours are your own? OK.

The fact is America lost its mind when the Russians wanted to have missiles in Cuba. And America installed puppet governments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thinking about it more, if Russia was worried about NATO why expand west and be on the doorstep of NATO countries, when they already have a buffer zone with Eastern Ukraine.

What's the end game? Overthrow Zelensky and install a puppet government that will be sympathetic to Russia's interests similar to what we see with Belarus?

You have to be nervous for Ukraine right now, with that fruitcake having his fingers on any number of buttons. Imagine facing that for a long night. SOB.

Other countries have been more forthcoming with support today, but you do worry about what happens next.

Maybe he finds Ukraine joining NATO particularly objectionable because of the recent conflicts with them?

Specifically, we commit to undertake the following measures:

First, we commit to ensuring that selected Russian banks are removed from the SWIFT messaging system. This will ensure that these banks are disconnected from the international financial system and harm their ability to operate globally.

"Selected" banks. That's clearly the compromise that got countries that export to Russia, like Germany, over the line.

Won't stop Putin, but media coverage will end up on Social media and may provide some level of support to Ukrainians knowing that people are behind them.
