He may end up beating Nick Daicos to the award. Not likely, but certainly not implausible, especially if he continues to kick goals each week.

if he keeps kicking multiple goals per week, then he would be a big chance. Nick D gets a lot of the ball but yet to show anything magical like his dad

He's played 6 games!

Just to compare their first 6 games.

Nick - 157 disposals @ 26.2/game, 30 marks and 1 goal.
Peter - 81 disposals @ 13.5/game, 9 marks and 2 goals.

Interestingly, Nick has kicked 8 behinds, Peter had kicked 10 at the same stage. Lets hope Nick goes on to kick another 500 odd goals like Dad did.

Ah yes, you're correct David. It's fly out day for me after 14 very hectic shifts in the Pilbara.... sleep has been minimal.

i know he has only played 6 six games, and he gets lots of possessions which is in itself a skill most young players do not have.

i saw highlights of Peter in his first game on the front bar the other week, and at 17 years of age, he was already showing the flair that we all know,

Wont effect Nick Daicos but methinks the nomination could be a poison chalise for Jack Ginivan.

Just hope its not another Jayden Stephenson went down hill after 2018 stevo

If Ginnivan played for another club he'd drive us all mad also if we're being honest.

But he's ours and we'll protect him to the bitter end.

Besides the mother of Bundy still loved him and Ted couldn't kick 5 on Anzac Day.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

Currently the leading possession winner for us and his final quarter last week was the most influential of his career so far IMO.

He's going okay after 6 games.

Love the kid. Been a fan since I saw him on debut.

Has plenty of personality and a natural gift of finding the goals.

I think the club is doing the right thing and holding him back. It’s a long tough journey. He’s as natural a midfielder as any junior has been in footy. Another year or two and more time in midfield and he will be doing the same, if not more than Sam Walsh is doing at Carlton. Walsh started on the wing at Carlton and two years later, he’s an absolute jet. And remember, as a junior, Nick averaged 2 goals a game. That’s part of his weaponry but even he can’t show that playing half back. Enjoy the ride, it will be worth it.

Oh and congratulations, Jack. Keep up the fine work around goal.

Just for some perspective on Dads first game. Apart from the 2 reserves, the whole side had 20+ possessions. Daics had 26.

Round 4 1979

Collingwood 31.21 (207) dftd St Kilda 3.11 (29) At the time, the biggest winning margin in VFL history.

Goal kickers - Davis, Stewart 6, Kink 5, R.Shaw 4, D.Shaw 3, Woolnough 2, Morris, Worthington, Moore, Wight, Ohlsen 1 (Daics kicked 4 behinds).

The free kick count in that game was typical... 40 frees to the aints & 25 to the Pies. Kink gave away 5
