I love these kinds of articles that make it sound like the Liberal Party are cheating by getting supporters to post partisan propaganda on Chinese-language apps. If I were a Labor strategist, the only thing I'd be asking is: why on earth aren't we doing the same thing?

Fair enough! If so, interesting that media reports like this haven't bothered to mention it. The story certainly makes it sound like Monique Ryan has dropped the ball on this front at any rate (which is probably not her fault, given how limited her resources are in comparison).

Apparently there’s a new seat-by-seat poll being published in the Murdoch newspapers tomorrow that gives Labor 80 seats, the Coalition 63 and 8 crossbenchers (including Zoe Daniel winning in Goldstein and Monique Ryan beating Josh Frydenberg in Kooyong).

i did a couple of different which way should i vote things on the net, came out totally different than i thought it would! postal votes done!

I had to duck into the office quickly to grab some stuff, while I was going out took mum to the closest pre-poll place and got the votes in.

I don't know why they stopped using community centres as polling places and just went to schools, if we could still do it there I would have voted on the day.

Even the pre-poll place was inconvenient for mobility impaired people. Pushing the walker 100m up a slight slope near killed mum and there was a few others who looked like they were struggling too. Still, very small queue, mobility impaired got priority access, so walking there and back the car took twice as long as actually getting in and voting.

I did one of those too, the ABC Compass one a week or so ago, where you answer lots of questions and it tells you how much you align with each parties policies. the only surprise was a higher alignment with the Greens than i thought. Must have been rigged.

Fair comment, I'd suggest that falls back on the Greens to do more marketing of their actual policies.

But doesn't the ABC have the Greens as only just left of centre?

Some of their policies are ok, but most are completely absurd.

They can afford to have some absurd policies if it helps attracts votes.

It's not like they'll ever have to enact them. It's like promising to buy houses for all your family if you win Tatts.

I'd challenge anyone to point to anything they're suggesting that's actually unrealistic or "absurd".

My guess is that the only policy that's truly radical (i.e. not mainstream major party policy in other parts of the world) is the one about climate change and phasing out fossil fuels, though even then I'm not sure if it's that crazy compared to what, say, progressive European countries are currently doing.

Perhaps we can kill two birds with one stone and use the fossils in the Coalition, UAP and ON as fuel?
