Well I didn't go to the game like I would have liked to but things sound promissing for 2000 with yet our 2nd win under Michael. And the start of our wining ways. Did anyone go to the game? And can tell me how collingwood looked. Did anyone see Sav play in the game before hand? Hows he looking?
Ok i'm out of here and going to bag my West Cost online friends
Go Pies!!!
Scores and goals thanks to Hotrod

yep i went I@n.
Ressies drawed with Geelong. Sav looked as if he still had a long way to go but it was a good sign to see him out there. Same with Ricky O.
In the other game the Pies looked pretty good especially seeing they had to play in that heat which West Coast would have been used to. Rhyce Shaw did very well i thought and Josh was taken on and off quite a bit. Tyson Lane did well too.
Some good things to look forward to in 2000 for the Pies i'd say however i wouldn't go as far as saying we'll win the flag just yet. I tip them to finish about 7th on the ladder!
Oh yeah and let's hope we can finally smash Carlton this year.

i know what u mean Alf. After being out there just watching the Pies in that heat yesterday then going out to the Waverley game after Vic Park i was well and truly buggered and ready to faint. I can't imagine how the poor players feel after having to run around in that heat then they will have to go train within a day or two after it. Also i reckon it's ridiculous making us pay to get in yesterday. I mean it wasn't expensive but why pay for a practice match if we don't pay to go to training.

Doug, I'm pretty sure the AFL arrange those practice matches. I think Saturday's match was Collingwood's punishment for not making the Semi-Finals of the Ansett Cup. Otherwise they would have been given the more cushy assigment of a night match. I could be wrong but that's my understanding. That's also the reasoning behind those practice matches that get played in the country. They are official AFL practice matches for teams that have been eliminated from the Ansett Cup.
And Spidergirl, I agree that we shouldn't have had to pay to get in on Saturday. At least members should have got in free. I've already coughed up $495 for Legends membership and they wanted another $5 just to watch a practice match. But of course we pay, don't we? We footy fans must have a sign tatooed on our foreheads that says, "Exploit me."
