If Morrison wins I don't know what it would prove other than Polls suck.Dave The Man wrote:Labor should really win next weekend but I thought that last Election
Hope the Right Result this time
Labor is set up to win, I'm not sure how they can lose from here but there's still a few variables that may provide them some twitchy sphincters on Saturday night.

So you'd rather they didn't support companies and that those employees got fired? So what if companies ended up doing better, it was the certainty of job keeper that allowed them to keep their employees employed, because a lot of companies had started standing people down when the lockdowns began.Dave The Man wrote:https://twitter.com/JasonClareMP/status/1524326726351818752
9 and 10 he was Spot On
But it was a lot of hot air, money for sporting clubs is an area that is desperately lacking, it's a shame the Victorian Labor Government doesn't invest in it as much as the Federal Liberal government does. How are sports supposed to grow and encourage female participation when they're still operating out of club rooms built in the 80's with no room?
Also those non existent carparks do exist, one was very recently opened in Croydon and is about to start in Ringwood.

I read an article a week or so ago by Kennett, his theory was whoever won this election would lose the next one due to economic things he outlined in good detail.
I'll be retired before the next one, my care factor is decreasing massively. Same Dog, different leg action.

Most of the Money that Big Business got went in to the Bosses Pockets.eddiesmith wrote:So you'd rather they didn't support companies and that those employees got fired? So you would have preferred they fired all their workers? Rightio then...
It's funny how the Labor cultists hate big business, yet fail to understand if those businesses don't turn profits, then the people on the bottom don't have jobs. So you can hate bosses making money all you like, but they won't be the ones to suffer first. The ALP for the workers by attacking their bosses, yeah doesn't make much sense.
Btw if by in trouble you mean those same big company haters on Twitter, I'm sure Gerry was shaking in his boots at them getting upset at him as majority of people just got in with life supporting his business.
The Feds invest plenty in Victoria, just because they won't sign a blank cheque to Andrews for an uncosted project he dreamt up with no planning and no clue what it'll cost, doesn't mean they won't give Victoria money. But Dan just won't accept anything that's not for his political wedge projects. Plenty of sporting clubs in Victoria benefitted from Federal Government investment and plenty more are still getting money from them in this campaign.
They are also still getting absolutely nothing from Dan...

Why it's pointless to vote "strategically":
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-n ... ower-house
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-n ... ower-house
To continue with the example of two chasing candidates competing to defeat a leading candidate: there will be seats where one candidate is well clear of the other and isn’t troubled by the order of elimination (like Warringah in 2019). There will be other seats where both candidates are strong enough to beat the leader on preferences, so a vote for either will achieve that outcome. There may be races where the two candidates are in a close race for second place and only one will receive a strong enough flow of preferences to go on to win. And there may even be seats where there are more than three plausible contenders for the final two spots (Hughes in Sydney may be among those at this election).
How do you know which scenario may play out in your seat? You don’t, I don’t. I could make a list of seats that I think fall into each category, but I’m sure I would get some wrong. None of us have a crystal ball, and seat-level opinion polling is not accurate enough to be confident. I expect many people who previously voted Labor or Greens in conservative electorates will switch and vote for a viable independent, either because they prefer that candidate or would like to vote for someone they think can win. But voters should not feel pressured to switch from their preferred candidate because of a possible outcome which is quite unlikely, particularly if their preferred candidate has a genuine chance of winning.
We are lucky to live in a country where voters don’t have to weigh up which candidates are likely to win when deciding how they vote, as they do in the UK. Unintended outcomes can happen, but are rare enough and unpredictable enough not to change the advice I would give every voter: number the boxes in the order that you genuinely prefer.

I would have preferred they be made to pay back the $20 billion they ended up not being entitled to when their revenue actually increased or didn't decrease by the eligible amount the Government set out during the pandemic.eddiesmith wrote:So you would have preferred they fired all their workers? For those not entitled to the money this in the end was nothing but middle class welfare, a complete rort and it's obvious it was the payoff for the Liberal base required by some Coalition members in order for them to support the large increase to Jobseeker.
If it's good enough for this Government to go after the poorest of the poor with their disastrous robodebt scheme which was targeting a fraction of this $20 billion then it should have been good enough for those business owners who weren't entitled to the taxpayer money they received.
Honestly I'm pretty floored that Labor hasn't made a bigger deal out of this because I'm sure plenty of undecided voters would have supported that $20 billion being clawed back and being used to provide much needed extra funding for our hospitals, PBS, schools and aged care facilities.
The ATO needs to be held to account here also as they have seemingly had their operations corrupted by political forces at play.

https://www.anao.gov.au/work/performanc ... per-scheme
Not sure how they came up with $20bn in job keeper payments to big business. 10% of the total $89 billion went to all large businesses, so the max would be $8.9bn and that doesn't even consider those that were eligible.

Haven't had a chance to go through the ANAO review of NBN to confirm / refute point number 10.
