I read this morning that all the cases in the UK are men who had sex with men. It's not a sexually transmitted disease, it's a virus that requires close contact for extended period of time. Like doing the horizontal rumba with someone, but for more than 3 minutes.

So it's not a gay man disease, they just happen to be the small sample size getting it. At the moment.

The article I read was very pointedly careful not to use the term "Gay men", instead referring to them as "Men who have sex with men"

Yeah not good enough, the correct terminology is Cisgender male identifying as a male, having meaningful, or maybe not meaningful sexual relations with another cisgender male.

It has not previously been described as a sexually transmitted infection, but it can be passed on by direct contact during sex.

And the most recent UK cases are in gay or bisexual men which has prompted the UK Health Security Agency to encourage men who have sex with men to be aware of any unusual rashes or lesions.
