Darcy Cameron enormous with his marking in wet conditions

Fantastic for Oli Henry, hopefully he isn't dropped again

backline held up well, thought all of them Moore, Howe, Noble, Q, and Maynard were all great
At this rate, Darcy can take the role as No. 1 ruckman and release Brodie to play as a tall wingman / forward. Brodie would be impossible to match up on and getting him out of the ruck will prolong his career to match his contract.

Some Thoughts:

- De Goey was good in 1st Qtr then went MIA for last 3

- Scumps super 1 sided

- N Daicos did not get a ton of the Ball but when he did used it very well and showed Leadership on the Ground

- Henry 4 Goals where fantastic and Him coming on for Cox worked for us

- Noble not a Classy Player but does all the Tough and 1%er Stuff that can win games

- Crisp and Steele played very well after having the Flu

- Thought Murphy played well and seemed better then Madgen

- Adam was back to his Best with his Efforts and getting the Ball inside

- Lipinski used the Ball Well

6 goals for the game (4 from free kicks) so to hold them to 2 goals for the game in general play is a bloody good effort.

Billy Elliott in that forward line takes so much heat from Henry and Ginnivan and WHE, they all play their natural game at it's best and chime in en masse.
Same goes for Sir Scott Pendlebury. The mids walk taller an become more of a unit.
I think those 2 ins made most of the difference....both directly and indirectly.
Loved seeing Murphy out there too. Great effort after such a break from the game with injury. Slotted in nicely

GO MAGGIES!!!

Henry redeemed himself today.

The defence was rock solid and unrelenting all day.. Noble, IQ, Moore and Howe all brilliant.

Bring on the arch enemy next week!
Totally; no passengers. Even Cox was earning his keep prior to that injury.
When we get that 100% buy-in from all players, we are usually very competitive.
Unchanged team for next week I'd suggest; nobody deserves to lose their spot. Certainly a very light week on the track beckons after today's effort.
And I'd have them all rest up during the week, stay in bed, feet up with pumpkin soup and binge on Netflix. Their fitness is fine.

Sure, it wasn't pretty - but wet weather football rarely is. Rain has always been the great equaliser.
The objective is to chaos the ball inside F50, where we certainly have the talent to capitalise on any half chance.

Sidey returning to some decent form; sure he waddles around, but the possessions he gets are starting to find the target, which leads to goals.
WHE, whose head I was calling for not long ago, is improving week by week, and certainly has to maintain that application for next week's game against the Filth.

And IIRC, this is our first victory against Freo since 2018?
I'm sure we were favourites to beat them on every occasion since then!

Anyhoo W5/L5 is break even, as is our ledger with the filth.
Pack the place out next week peeps! It will be on like Donkey-Kong!

The experience brigade Crisp ,Pendles & Sidey the glue that kept us competitive

I could name more but that’s a start

Wow it sounds like an incredible game from us,Unfortunately I missed it as I had to go out this evening.I think people underestimated just how much the flu has affected the team the last two weeks. The flu can be very debilitating, and it’s not something you can overcome in a day.So I think it was a factor in our last two lack lustre preformances.

It sounds like Henry finally had a break out game today with his four goals.I can’t wait to see the replay tomorrow to see how the game panned out.

Winning on the road like that is a great achievement for the side. And it’s worth remembering that the much vaunted Carlton side went over there a few weeks ago and lost to Fremantle by he same margin we beat them today by.Something to think about!

I mentioned using Tyler Brown as a 2nd ruck option similar to Silvagni a few weeks back and most dismissed the idea for his lack of size.

At least Fly agreed with my idea
