He got roughed up today.
No doubt because the opposition thinks he is a lair.
Up to him in how he responds.
But my main concern is his lack of chasing and he is a bloody slow.

Had a tough day and still managed 3 goals.

That's a sign of a prolific goal kicker.

He's not fast, but I reckon he chases and tackles well.

Put some pressure on when he was in the middle of the ground I thought

Also 8 goals ahead of our next best who just happens to be JDG, and only 1 behind our best (and leading goal kicker of the last 3 years)

So, not really sure what more you want from a 19yo small forward

i agree. i am starting to get a man crush on this guy. i loved the way he took two elbows to the back of the head unflinchingly. He is as tough as they come! for the first time in a long time (since Swan and Heath Shaw and Alan Didak), i feel like we have a player with some character!!

I find it absurd that he is getting the media and booing and being labeled a pest. He plays smart and can get a free. Nothing wrong with that as long as he is not staging. (The umps have let a few obvious ones go too by the way).
He plays up to the crowd to celebrate a goal. So he should!!! He just kicked a goal for the Mighty Maggies!! I'd shoosh the booing morons too.
He keeps backing himself up, by kicking goals.
He's a player I love being on our team. He is a player I love not being on another team. Says it all really. They're just jealous.

Teams don't gang up on a big mouth git who can't play. He should consider the physical attention from other teams a compliment.

He's kicked 17 goals this year, our leading goal kicker is Checkers with 18.

Joe Daniher and Buddy Franklin have kicked 19. Tom Lynch is leading the Coleman with 27. Kid is doing good.

Ginnivan is a tough hombre from Castlemaine who won’t be intimidated by anyone in Melbourne. City people either don’t know or can’t remember how hard country footy is and that the faint hearted don’t survive. Ginni will revel in the hard stuff and won’t fold like a flower.

He just keeps on giving. Haven't seen anyone celebrate before a goal since Mark Jacko Jackson in the eighties.
Every time he touched it something good happened. Even hit the post twice with half chances.
I hope he has a day out against the blues

Did anyone hear Buckley pronounce his name during the broadcast as "Jinnivan", by the way? Did he get tongue-tied, or have the rest of us been getting it wrong?

His dad called into JB and Bill's radio show a few weeks back and pronounced it with a hard G, like Go or Gout, not the soft one like Gin or Geelong.

He's a great character. Hope he plays a blinder against Carlton.
