Yep I reckon players will be happy to be traded to us, particularly the positivity around the club and players being behind the coaches 100%. No slight on Bucks’s character, but it’s no secret we weren’t a happy team the past two seasons and the club was unravelling.Damien wrote:Who are our Jolly & Ball for 2023?eddiesmith wrote:I actually think we've got plenty of young talent, what we really need is a couple of experienced top ups much like we did in 2010.Big T wrote:Fantastic even if I wish we were tanking to go for a flag quicker.
Really happy for Coxy. Not only today but the last 6 weeks or so dominating vfl and now showing he belongs. Fly take a bow. Hope it continues. Mason is very likeable and a real part of our fabric and u can see the boys love him.
Grundy must be concerned.
A key forward, key defender and a quality big bodied inside midfielder are probably the 3 holes to look to fill.
All of a sudden we ARE a destination club. Our window will be open next year.
Post Match. Pies dump Blues. All comments, please.

Loved Murphy today. He just looked seamless in defence. Brilliant marking, and ferocious at ground level as well. Lock him in.
Our team is playing with a determination, a fanaticism, a spirit and a sense of joy that is quite extraordinary.
And all the more amazing after the string of defeats we endured preceding the last two games.
We can clearly see that the injection of top quality personnel (Elliott and Pendles) was hugely important.
Something else has clicked though.
Not getting ahead of myself though, of course repeating these performances consistently is the new challenge.
But I see in this game a major breakthrough in terms of aligning and comprehending the new game style.

Yep, interesting listening to Noble's post game chat with Grundy on the Collingwood website, makes it clear how good it is to be around the club this year.Mr Miyagi wrote:Yep I reckon players will be happy to be traded to us, particularly the positivity around the club and players being behind the coaches 100%. Wow, what a game. That was nerve racking in the end.
I thought, despite the closeness, we were clearly the better team, and repeatedly ripped them open down the middle in a way they couldn't do to us and only bad goal kicking kept it close.
After a few weeks where we were leaking marks inside 50 like a sieve, it's great to see us really tighten that up the last couple of games and we actually dominated the scum there.
Notes on various players:
Noble - wow. I've changed my opinion on him massively. Dare I say he's almost in AA form at the moment. Clear BOG.
Sidey - easily his best game of the year. Maybe playing him as a more permanent forward is the answer.
De Goey - back to his damaging best. Seemed to be involved in every score.
Cox - best game in ages. Great marking and more involved at ground level than he's ever been.
Murphy - easily his best game. First time I've actually really noticed him out there.
Moore - much better game than many give him credit for. Great intercept marking and most of the goals Curnow kicked weren't his fault.
Crisp - same as always pretty much. So good and so reliable.
Adams - 2019 caliber game from him.

When did Voss say that. What time stamp in the presser did he discuss his record.Magpietothemax wrote:Just watched Voss' presser.
So glad that we chose Fly.
Arrogant, complacent coach. Referred to his record (compared to Teague last year) to glorify himself.
Not a hint of such self promotion with Fly.

Suck that Carlscum.
Suck that you 3 putrid cheating dog slags of umpires.
Suck that Weitering, for your attempted dogs act.
We got them minus McKay too, which was critical.
If he plays, we probably can't cover him.
We'll need to be better again, next time we play them [2023?]
And pretty much what everybody else said in the previous 8 or so pages.
100% buy-in again for four quarters, that is all we can ask.
Isn't it great when we effectively have only 1 player missing from best 22?
We haven't had that luxury since when - early 2019?
I was filthy on Jack G for those two misses; they reeked of lairising.
He needs to realise that those are the moments in this caper, where you go from hero-to-zero in an instant; perhaps that was the humiliation on the big stage he needed, to dial it back a little.
Had we lost, yes, I would've laid the blame solely at his feet. Critical misses that eroded scoreboard pressure.
So, here we are at W6/L5 at the turn.
And that's better than we thought we'd be at season's start, but perhaps worse than we deserve?
Are we top eight quality yet? Not sure, but plenty of upside to come.
One week at a time peeps; roll the Whoreks, and see if we can assist the reigning premier with than annual mid-season hibernation, then earn a week off with the bye. That's about as One week at a time as I get!
Go the f#cken PIES! Eat a bucket of hot turds Carlscum!
