Warms my heart every time I see the boy with the footy. Similar to witnessing guys like Pendles, Didak and of course the original marvel himself early in their careers. Pure silk. Zero interest in what the media do or don't say
Basically there are only two guys who can win the Rising Star Award - Nick Daicos and Jai Newcombe. The way Nick is travelling he's on track for a 5-10 finish in our Copeland trophy, whereas according to Hawthorn sources Jai is on track to win their B/F at Hawthorn. On that basis I don't really care if Jai wins the Rising Star award. All it is is a useless trophy like the Brownlow medal. It means nothing to a club footballer whose main aim is a premiership medal, Norm Smith medal and club best and fairest.
Pies2016 wrote:I’m still pissed off with those two clowns, Montagna and “ recycled stats “ King declaring J H - F was easily the best player in the draft. Montagna should be called out for that rubbish. He claimed to have seen a lot of footage of both and J H - F and Daicos and that J H-F was clearly a better player. Well perhaps he’s just not much of a judge of junior talent.
In truth, J H - F has been lucky to have been selected for a nomination. Kicked something like three goals for the season playing centre / forward and also shown toddler like petulance over the last couple weeks.
How you going, Dave ??
Leigh Montagna is a little ferret, Ben Shapiro look-a-like, outside running/soft disgruntled from 2010 ex footballer whose trying to forge career in an already noisy media landscape. He is a goose.
It's pretty hard to get votes as a back flanker. I'm hoping that by the end of the year, he'll get more opportunities to play on the ball, which is where he will obviously play for most of his career.
