If that’s the case, he needs to state it, otherwise he needs to accept the consequences of his actions.
I don't even know what that means? I was asking if any of our amateur forensic scientists and tattoo experts were still clinging to the plainly false hope that it wasn't his arm? Apparently those of us that disputed this aren't true supporters? I just thought it meant we had eyes that work and a grip on reality.

4. The vultures attacking the hardest just want him out of Collingwood and will not blink an eye with him at another club.
5. IF THIS is what tips him out.....IF the club or members of the board use this to tip him out. Then Id be pulling my membership.

There could be other factors that see him leave the club that Id be ok with. This tho is ridiculous.
May I offer a counter point:

Points 1 and 2 - are correct, to the letter of the law he has done nothing wrong. However this isn't the first time he has walked the tight rope on this issue and has embarrassed the club and more importantly risked all important sponsors. This is now repeat behaviour.

Point 3 - not paid just to play football anymore. You are in this day and age paid to behave in a manner that does not bring your employer (Collingwood and the AFL) into disrepute. Indeed, as are we all. I can tell you right now in most of our jobs, you sign as part of your contract a clause to do with social media.

Point 4 go back an look at my posts since last trade period, I have been calling for the club to trade Jordy, he is a good player...but certainly not worth the off feild liability issues. His value now would be half what it was.

Sometimes it is best if two parties just part ways. Jordy might not like it,but when your being paid a lot of money...you have to conform to what your employer expects, indeed, what society expects...gone are the days when you can do as you wish on holidays in the AFL.

ahh yes, the old trade him gesture too soothe the PC Brigade, Yes, i can see him going to say, our worst enemy, Carlton, and in a possible close Grand final, booting the wining goal against us, with a minute too go, ala the 2018 GF, denied a Premiership by one of our most talented players, playing for the Bluescum. I wonder if you would be so keen then, hey, if that nightmare scenario unfolded itself. Just saying. :o

I’ve been reading and following the thread since it started but now it should be over IMO
Look he didn’t break any laws other than the law of commonsense
He could have gone to Bali had a awesome few days just not had it posted on social media
He is a big name and a big target for the media
His next contract is in the balance be it with Collingwood or another club
He’s a extreme talent but in today’s landscape youve got to be more
Let’s hope he can get some help to avoid this type of outcome again
As for his contract I care only about what he brings on the footy field from here until seasons end

Yeh, this is my last comment for sure. Just going to say, if, if, Jordon had gone to say , Lorne, Port Fairy, Inverloch, or even the gold coast, and mucked around like that in the local pub, enjoying himself and not in Bali, would there be all this hoo hah by the obsessed PC media. ?? Somehow, i think not, it was just the Bali factor, and thats it. And im outa here, had enough of this media hype shit, truly, enough is enough. Im done.

Now they're blurring out the top pull to make it look like he actually exposed her breast. The media are despicable.

I’m glad this has been settled. It was really becoming tiresome and repetitive with all of the hysteria coming from the media, especially from past players who have done worse things than DeGoey ,but have never owned up to it or been caught out on camera like he has.

I hope things will settle down now,but I have a feeling the media won’t let this go.I’m sure they will go on trawling the internet looking for videos of players doing or saying something that will embarrass the club, and then link it to DeGoey somehow. That’s how they roll, unfortunately.

My last say on this too, the club has made its call. Obviously the instance you outline is a nightmare. The likelihood of this exsactly unfolding, i would say is unlikely.

But hey, if he was good enough to achieve this... my hat off to Jordy...if the guy gets a premiership at Collingwood or elsewhere full respect to him.

I consider myself a very progressive, old school leftie, opposed to racism, sexism, religion and snobbery and class elitism. However, I also understand that not everyone shares my views. I would never dare expect to be able to impose my views/values on others. Nevertheless, I will never hold back on expressing my views/values, even if they offend. I am not afraid of offending people, and I am not afraid of being offended by other peoples views I oppose.

With regards De Goey's behaviour in Bali - I thought it was immature and disrespectful, but as the female involved was happy with the attention and happy to post it up on instagram, then so be it. He did nothing wrong. End of story.

What I find extremely offensive, is the woke police, in Taliban style, forcing JDG to make a public apology and express remorse. Furthermore, I think it disgraceful that JDG has been penalised by our spineless club. If our club is genuinely concerned for JDG's welfare, then by all means provide psychological support and guidance, but to punish an employee for behaving in their own time, in a way not liked by our club, is beyond the pale. Seriously folks, these are dangerous times.

^^^ Agree entirely RB. Really disappointed with the club toeing some invisible line set by some elements in the media (and probably the hypocritical AFL which promotes the most damaging of all leisure activities in betting).

Plus, as whatsinaname pointed out, I too noticed the pixellation of the video suggesting there was something seriusly offensive to be seen, when there was nothing. Corrupt bloody media!!!!

Then on AFL360, Robbo ranted and raved like an absolute lunatic about how the punishment was not fitting the crime. Hmmm, there was NO crime you pathetic excuse for a journalist!!!! Rapidly losing respect for Gerard, who really should've been a monk.

I am so fed up with the complete circus of what has become the AFL - not the players(never the players), but everything else that exerts undue influence over what happens out on the ground. The actual game has become secondary to the parasitic industry that surrounds it.
