VFL Round 15

Post by Dark Beanie »

Pies vs Tigers

Sunday 3 July @ 11.05am. Venue Swinburne Centre (Punt Road oval).

NOTE: This is gated game so if you wish to go you will need to purchase a ticket. Tickets - Adults $10, Concession $5, Kids U15 Free, Pies members $5 (discount code required)

Match centre:

https://www.afl.com.au/vfl/matches/4286

Ladder:
Pies 10th - 6 wins, 5 losses 112% Tigers 7th - 7 wins, 5 losses 102 %
Ladder position is a bit deceptive though as the Tigers have played one more game than the Pies.

Team selection will be interesting as the Pies will be without a ruckman due to Aiden Beggs injury (thumb, 2 weeks). This game may be like the Wizard of Oz for the Pies, full of munchkins.

Bad news for Charlie:

"The Magpies' four-point win against the Tigers at the Swinburne Centre was soured by an injury to Charlie Dean, who doubtless would have been in contention to replace injured Collingwood star Darcy Moore. Dean limped from the ground and was seen on crutches."

https://www.afl.com.au/news/789336/arou ... r-pie-hurt

Final scores:

Pies 12.12.84 defeated Tigers 11.14.80

Goals: Sam Fowler 3, Trent Bianco 2, Blackmore-Moore, Glover, Harrison, Lane, Macrae, Madgen, Tardrew

Pies move up to 9th on the ladder just out of the eight on percentage.

One of the commentators sounds like a pre-pubescent boy wired on Energy drinks

had a look at the highlights, good game but no one stood out to me except Kelly missing marks getting too far under the ball.
