The issue here is that Sheehan doesn't like Eddie and vice-versa.Shithan is the lap dog of the AFL, he will lick the dogshit off their boots if he is asked to. The AFL is trying to promote the game in dominant NRL States and feels that handing over money by the fist to these clubs will lift the games popularity in these states. No doubt the win by the Lions will go some way in promoting the game. However, the after match celebrations at the Gabba only saw about 5-6000 people show up. And in Melbourne they had quite a healthy crowd. Now the Lions are seeing the benefits of promoting in Melbourne....finally they wake up. The extra money they receive is unfair and unjustified. I agree with Eddie, and i can also see why the AFL is giving more money. However, if they gave that money to promoting the game at the Junior level it would go a long way it creating and encouraging footballers for the Lions and Swans future. Also if a club wins a final and has breached salary cap then flag should be removed. A pissy little fine does not cut it with me.

Careful what you wish for.
Collingwood breached the salary cap in 1990 and at least once since.

Yeah, I agree with you daicos4ever, Mike was suspiciously quick to shout down Dwayne Russell's implied criticism of the AFL on Sunday's footy show.
