Experts here say his disposals are shit
Well career he averages 66% disposals eff
Sidey career 63.2% disposal eff
Career 24.8 disposals a game
Sidey 23.7 disposals a game

Based on you experts we get rid of Sidey as well ??

His groin is a major issue and very hard to recover from ripping it off the bone if that’s what’s happened
Major surgery and a long rehab with limited activity
Pushing 30 doesn’t help either
But he’s a heart and soul player
Take him out of the middle last weekend and we aren’t likely in the game
He was winning centre clearances or when he didn’t he stifled and hindered the cats exits
He tackles anything that moves and lets the opposition know he’s around

Spiritually he’s been the leader of this team for a couple years

Personally I’m glad some the posters here have no say at the club we would be a complete rabble if they did
Whoops.

Sidey's DE / Adams DE

2015: 77% / 63%
2016: 76% / 72%
2017: 72% / 70%
2018: 74% / 67%
2019: 73% / 68%
2020: 66% / 64%
2021: 72% / 65%
2022: 69% / 59%

and don't look further back, the stats before 2015 favour Sidey even more.
Don’t know where you got those from but champion data stats when you do career say different

Welcome to Collingwood #13 Taylor Adams

Post by LaurieHolden »

THERE was reportendly a good deal of outrage on social media regarding missing out on Tay Tay tickets. But a reminder to our supporters our own Tay Tay has been performing to record crowds week in week out since 2014. Just turn up each week to watch the show.

As our team has evolved under Macrae and co, so too has Adams. With the trading in of Tom Mitchell, he in tandem with JDG have effectively pushed Adams out of his midfield role. And with Naicos set to be a regular attendee in the guts, as a result Adams has transitioned from pure midfield time to that of a mid-forward.
Testament to his leadership and ability to drop his ego before he walks on to ground, he hasn't dropped his bundle, but used his innate work effort to continue to be a key contributor season to date.

2023
Scoring : 8 goals 6 behinds (=11th on CFC list)
Goals assists : 18 (1st on CFC list)
Tackles : 60 at an average of 4.3 per game. (4th on CFC list)
Tackles inside 50 : 15 ranked = 3rd on CFC list)
Meters gained : average of 229.4 (13th on CFC list)
Contested Possessions : 109 (6th on CFC list)
Effective Disposals : 175 (11th on CFC list)
Disposal efficiency : 67% (23rd on CFC list ~ min. 3 games)
Turnovers : 44 (11th on CFC list)

2023 Highs
Stoppage Clearances : 5 v Adelaide, R15.
Contested Possessions : 11 v Melbourne, Rd13.
Goals : 2.1 v Port, Rd2.

Our dual Vice Captain is on track to play his 200th game (169th for Collingwood) during Round 19 against Port Adelaide.
In October 2013, Adams was traded to Collingwood as a swap for Heath Shaw, then making his debut in Round 1 2014.

There's been plenty on here week to week eager to pot Adams, mostly regarding his kicking and further bellowing to move him on. However, that dull assessment fails to account for the other parts of his game that are his, and just as much as our
gameday DNA.
To pot his kicking in isolation would be to discount the tackling, contested ball winning and aggression he brings week in week. Without this leadership, we'd be a much poorer side. I'm much more confient when we have our hard-nuts in Adams, Maynard, McCreery and Mihocek keeping opposition players in check.

While 2018 seems an age ago, Adams was the recipient of the Bob Rose Trophy for our best finals player and runner up in the Norm Smith.
And lets not forget in September 2022, our 2020 Copeland Trophy winner and 2020 All Australian tore his groin off the bone. It's been a remarkable recovery and reflects the determination he brings through the doors.
He continues to lead by example and will remain one of my first picked when it comes to September action to come.

Adams - 200 games

Post by think better »

Taylor Adams rolls out for his 200th this weekend. This is a great achievement for someone that chucks himself at the bottom of packs week after week.

As a reborn hard-nut half forward he has been very good this year - his last game was one of his best.
I think therefore I think - I think

Congratulations on 200 games Tay. Who knew that his clangers, kicking on the 45 inboard into the corridor were completely redundant as he should have been playing as half forward flank!

Adams has done very well this year by contributing to the forward strike power by being handy around the forward line as an in-and-under extractor and exemplary takcler that keeps the pressure on opposition trying to transition from our forward line.
He may lack the exquisite foot disposal skills of the Daicos boys, but his set shots for goal are quite reliable and no-one can doubt his courage for waiting under the ball and his competitiveness. He still appears to be able to provide the strong leadership that inspires teamates and I'm sure the likes of Hill, Daicos boys and McCreery walk a bit taller when Taylor Adams is running around in their forward line.
His career may have been extended by the arrival of Tom Mitchell to share the load of being the center square extractor and its a credit to Taylor that he has embraced the new role of an undersized center half forward.
Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation!

There’s nothing more enthralling in footy than seeing Adams beat a few and suddenly finding himself streaming inside 50 and wondering “what will he do next”? Has been better of late which suggests he’s continuing to work on that part of his game.

Happy for him. Hope he can get himself a premiership medallion. Heart and soul. Him and Maynard would literally give organs for the black and white.

Congrats.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...
