Interesting contest so far.
I'm a little disappointed with the crowd. I know its a QLD team and that Visy only opened up certain areas of the stands, but still. I would have liked to have seen more support around the stadium. Should it have been played elsewhere? Would a Carlton/Richmond/Essendon/Collingwood game have drawn a bigger crowd? And would those teams have been playing at another venue?
Anyway, Southport have taken an early lead as Casey seem a little flat. They dominated the whole season, so this is a little surprising. I hope Southport keep it up.
They have one former Pie, Manteit playing.

Margin was 32 points at the end.
Only watched a bit of the 1st quarter when it looked pretty even.
Casey kicked away after half time.
They were the best team all year, finished H&A top of the ladder 3 games clear with only 1 loss to the Lions.
Sam Weideman finished with 18 disposals, 35 hitouts but only 1 mark.
