we lost two finals.
we lost two games to each of the two teams that made the GF
we do not have depth of clearance players and have the lowest percentage in the afl finals.
We lose Grundy and we go backwards unless there is a clear plan and view on our mids that the club has in mind. Then it has to work. Huge gamble

[The cheap option:
Sam Hayes. 205cm, 23yo. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players ... Hayes.html
This is sounding like the most likely scenario. He had a lot of hitouts for so little amount of games played. But I dunno man.]
This one giving me Guy Richards type nightmares

Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark

Really? I thought we lost to two the teams that stretched our backline because they have three tall forwards.MJ23 wrote:we lost two finals.

The teams we lost to this year: Geelong, Swans, Tigers, Brisbane, WCE all have at least two all forwards.

He aged very quickly as I was writing - he's 24 on one site and 23 on anotherRudeBoy wrote:you've got me confused tb. Is he 23 or 24?think better wrote:I wonder if someone out of left field might be worth a shot
Harry Boyd was BOG in the SANFL grand final - 23 year old and a bit of a late developer but still only 24

The loss of Roughead was much bigger than most would acknowledge. What'sinaname wrote:Really? I thought we lost to two the teams that stretched our backline because they have three tall forwards.MJ23 wrote:we lost two finals.

^ this. Cox and Cameron are a perfectly fine ruck duo. Since the hubs Grundy has not been a 1mil man that much is clear.
A big fwd, genuine crumbing (how easy did Sydney rebound out of defence?), big back and another inside mid to help Adams are all more important to the Collingwood list than an A grade ruckman.
He was our most important player under Buckley’s impotent game plan, not in Flys.
I hate that we had to pay 300k but he bent us over and Ned Guy accepted it. If you want to blame someone, blame Ned.

The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

We lost to Brisbane and Geelong with Grundy…
We also lost to West Coast with Grundy, but we didn’t have our best player in De Goey. So, if anyone wants an idea of Collingwood with Grundy but without JDG, 17th is where we’d be again…

Scott Pendlebury, longest serving Collingwood player, ever, whose opinion I take 100% over any numpty here, quote, " Look, I dont want us to lose Brodie, no, hes very important too us, and ALL AUSTRALIAN RUCKMAN DONT GROW ON TREES, FOR SURE. ".

If we listened to Pendlebury, Buckley would still be coach.Piesnchess wrote:Scott Pendlebury, longest serving Collingwood player, ever, whose opinion I take 100% over any numpty here, quote, " Look, I dont want us to lose Brodie, no, hes very important too us, and ALL AUSTRALIAN RUCKMAN DONT GROW ON TREES, FOR SURE. ^ Nice way to denigrate our Captain, longest serving player, who has n othing but praise for Fly, and he was hardly going to slur his own Coach back then now was he, when that Coach was still with us ?? Get real.

And yet you expect him to be anything other than supportive when asked about Grundys future at the club? Seriously?Piesnchess wrote:^ Nice way to denigrate our Captain, longest serving player, who has n othing but praise for Fly, and he was hardly going to slur his own Coach back then now was he, when that Coach was still with us ??
