Farewell #27,#24 Caleb Poulter

Objectively yes. I agree. Get it done and move on.Haff wrote:Straight swap for Frampton. Moving on.
Of course we all want more for our guy than we give up in getting the other guy, but pretty hard to argue for too much when we haven't offered him a contract (speaks to our own club's estimate of his value). Might have had a chance to make more of an impression this year if our depth was tested more - but he's really only an outside runner from what I can see. Also might get his chances over the next 2-3 years, but a) seems like he wants to go and b) I'd take a c-grade KPP in the here and now over a prospect for 3-4 years time.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Ok. I had info on this at the start of the year and said as much a few times.
Poulter was/is home sick. It got bad to the point the club was flying him home a significant amount of time. The club knew he wouldn't be with us after this year. I’d suggest that’s why he didn’t come on in the VFL and got just the one AFL game.
I’d also suggest knowing this we have been seeking out players behind the scenes. Frampton my guess is one of them. Is form in the SANFL has been very good as an intercepting mark across HB. I believe the crows also knew he was going as they didn’t play him when the should have.
It’s what GC did to Brody last year and what they did to Fiorini this year. Playing them hits triggers etc why do that when u can develop players who are staying.
I think Poulter is mentally weak. Get as much as we can for him.

Poulter vs Frampton. Lets lose the emotion on this one. Neither has really worked for both clubs. Frampton has probably had one better game at AFL level than Poulter but that is pretty much it. 25 year old Tall versus a 20year old tall wingman. If neither offered a contract let's just do a straight swap and get on with it.
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Not fussed either way but continue to be amazed by how many young men nominate for the Draft in a National competition and then bail after two years to 'go home...'.
Would like to keep Poulter as I believe that he has a hell of a lot of upside.
However, I still want Frampton as the big-bodied defender we crave.

Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...
Yeah I must admit in my armchair no idea about the kids opinion none of them set my world alight post draft. Only Henry on that list has thus far shown he is AFL worthy but still early days.gurugeoff wrote:The 2020 draft was us “going tall” - poulter, Henry, McMahon, Mcinnes
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.
