Yep, utter madness, and too add insult to injury, pay the Deeees $300 K a season, for HIM to play AGAINST US, THE BLOODY INSANE TRELOAR SHIT REARS ITS HEAD AGAIN. We never learn, never do learn, and this blaming Ned Guy is wearing thin, now , we dont have to do this, we dont have to do this shit, its up too us. :x

i don't think he is a once-in-a-generation ruckman. His main attribute is his ability to play as an extra mid fielder (and this hasn't been as apparent in recent years). He is not a strong mark and has basically missed a year with injury.

There will be three opinions if Grundy leaves

1/. agree 2/. disagree 3/. ambivalent

and we are all entitled to our opinion, not that it will influence what the club does of course

He's 6ft 1 no ruckman, Sam Hayes, however, is 6ft 7 yes he's a ruckman. You can't replace a Grundy, you work around it. We didn't have him this year so you can't miss what you haven't had. Grundy is going and it's not his fault it's the idiots that signed him up for the long-term deal.

Stunned we are interested in Hayes, he is point blank no good, have seen stacks of him in the SANFL, and he is ineffective around the ground, is ok tap ruckman but if he is anywhere near our 22 next season it’s not a good sign

Considering we have been trying to get rid of Grundy for ages I thought we would’ve been better prepared

One thing not many people are talking about, but I think it’s also playing a part here, is that the bounce won’t be in existence for much longer (pretty sure it’s going from the SANFL comps next season) and I would think the AFL are getting closer to introducing last disposal out of bounds rule, so less throw ins.

The role of the ruckman will be reduced over the next few years. Their importance will be in their marking and goal kicking, neither of which are Grundy strengths

One thing for certain we won’t be standing still and not trying to make the team better
Fact is we didn’t have him this year and we made a prelim so we definitely can’t get any worse without him!

I see some of these players they are looking at mostly as depth options because you can’t go in to the season with two ruckman on your list!

A once in a generation ruckman that was at his absolute best, maybe the third best ruckman in the competition. But we haven’t seen that form for 3 years so it’s a fair bit of hyperbole going on about getting rid of an AA, Copeland winning player who is getting older and been found out 3 years ago.

Get a forward who can ruck like Hawkins, and you don't have to spend a squillion on a ruckman.

It sure has. A ruckman only needs to ruck in the middle of the ground if you have capable big men in F50 and D50 who can ruck effectively.
