Hello Cheersquad Members,
Firstly, please allow me to take this opportunity to thank you all for your hospitality whilst the Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club was present in Melbourne last week. Special thanks to Kathy & Mick for comming to Vic Park on Saturday Afternoon and chatting with us about Collingwood.
Ild also like to extend a personal thanks to everyone for allowing me to sit in the squad during the St Kilda Match. It was an awesome experience and one I will never forget. Starting one of the chants about Gerhigs love life was awesome!
On another note, I'ld like for everyone in the CS to put their differences aside and unite as one for the cause that is the Collingwood Football Club.
As a supporter from Sydney, and a proud member of the Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club, I dont get to hear about all the ins and outs of the CS in Melbourne, however it seems that there are people who are members of the CS who just turn up to games, wave a flag, sing a chant and then piss off. Come on, get in there and show us what you are made off.
You are all members of the greatest and most professional Cheersquad that has ever followed AFL football. But like all awesome groups, there is only one way for it to continue to grow. And that is to get new people involved every week in setting up and organising the squad.
Its funny that I see the 'same old' people when I come down, putting in to further the cause. These people know who they are and their work is awesome. But people, isn't it time that some people who just go to the footy on a Saturday put their hands up too and chipped in?
Its extremely dissapointing to learn that the Bus Trip to Adelaide was Cancelled 2 weeks ago. I remember last year, from nicks, that it was one of the biggest interstate trips of the season! And the We Love Eddie banner that was put on the border sign was something else!
Its also extremely worrying from an Interstate Supporters group point of view that this trip was cancelled.
I know how much work it takes to organise an interstate trip. And I also know how dissapointing it is when things need to be cancelled due to lack of interest.
I would die to see Collingwood play every week, but due to my life at the moment I cant.
I know we are going through shit as a club at the moment, and that the Cheersquad is on the end of alot of stick from last weekends match. All the wankers who like to put shit on us and our club came out of the woodwork during the week. Well, lets shut them up.
CHEERSQUAD, ITS TIME TO UNITE FOR THE CAUSE, UNITE FOR THE FIGHT. PUT ASIDE THE PAST, AND FIGHT FOR WHATS RIGHT.
Whats right is our integrity as a Cheersquad and as Collingwood Supporters. We are not Richmond or Carlscum fans, WE ARE COLLINGWOOD SUPPORTERS, and we DEMAND respect. Go out fellow Collingwood Brothers and Sisters, and show the AFL and Melbourne who the hell we are, where the hell we come from and Who the hell we support.
In the words of Joffa, "We are Collingwood, We will forever be Collingwood."
No One can take this away from us.
Respect the Black and the White
