I want it on record that he is not the greatest player I've seen. He isn't even the best Geelong player I've seen. (Ablett x2)
But, what a player he was. He has everything but a Brownlow, and he came close in one of the years Ablett won. He piped Pendlebury for the Rising Star award in 2007 and there's been a comparison between the two ever since. Personally, I think they are completely different types of players. Sadly, neither will win a Brownlow, and Pendles wont be winning another 3 flags, but does have a Norm Smith. Let's just hope Pendles can win another flag next year.
Strange to think that Pendles was drafted a year earlier and will play at least 1 season later.
Anyway, it's hard to knock a guy thats won 4 flags and played 350 games.

A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!
^ You need to make the effort, Presti35. I'll have a go:
Free kicks for/against -
Pendlebury 463/187 (1.29/0.52 per game)
Selwood 890/460 (2.51/1.30 per game)
So, Selwood was both given way too many cheap ones, compared to our incredibly fair, ball-playing captain and much less fair, giving away 2 and 1/2 times as many frees as Pendles.
Selwood has had fewer disposals, taken fewer marks, kicked fewer goals, given fewer goal assists and - as you rightly point out - won infinitely fewer Norm Smith Medals than Pendles.
Also, Pendlebury will finish up with more career Brownlow votes.
