The cricket world is used to looking at Steve Smith in awe but the Aussie legend has just gone to the next level.
Smith was once again the linchpin for the Sixers, slamming a 33-ball 66 as the Sixers’ 7/180 was enough for a 24-run win.

The cricket world has looked on in awe at Smith in his recent feats and have no doubt he should be back in the Aussie T20 side.
ABC broadcaster Corbin Middlemas tweeted: “When Australia pick their next T20 team in August against South Africa … who are the other ten to partner Steve Smith?”
The Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield opined: “Leaving Steve Smith out of T20 World Cup side ranks alongside the greatest selection blunders in Australian sporting history”.
England’s Mirror reporter James Whaling posted: “Few finer sights in sport than a batsman of Steve Smith’s calibre in form like this. Hopefully getting all of his runs out of the way before the summer”,

Perth Scorchers import Stephen Eskinazi says he's simply in awe of Steve Smith, but he hopes the star Sydney Sixers batsman will produce a rare flop in Saturday's blockbuster BBL clash at Optus Stadium.
The winner of 'The Qualifier' will earn direct entry into the grand final, with Smith looming as the Sixers' biggest weapon.

Steve Smith still believes he has room to improve his game at the highest level, even after winning a record-equalling fourth Allan Border Medal.
Smith took out the award for men's cricketer of the year at the Australian Cricket Awards on Monday night.

Once 3-2-1 votes from players, umpires and media were tallied, Smith (171 votes) comfortably beat out Travis Head (144) and David Warner (141) to equal Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke for most wins.
The award came as the culmination of Smith's decision to recalibrate his batting technique, an overhaul he began considering as early as 2019.
Smith reaped the rewards during the home Test summer, making an unbeaten 200 against West Indies, his highest Test score in three years. He backed it up with 104 in his home Test at the SCG against South Africa and has averaged 71.92 in Test matches in the past 12 months.
Smith scored his 7th Test century in England in the current match (from a total of 32 innings in 17 Tests, at an average of 60.7). Among Australian batsmen, that equals the great Steve Waugh (from a total of 32 innings in 22 Tests), althoiugh Waugh achieved his feat with 10 not-outs, so his average in England was 74.22. Smith is now behind only Bradman, who made 11 Test centuries in England from 30 innings in 19 Tests.

I love the way he started his innings (I fell asleep when he was in his 20's). Comes out and asserts himself on the match, which I think plays with the bowlers heads.
Hopefully Carey and the tail can keep it together and we can watch the master carve out yet another big ton. Brilliant.
Australia, if not already, can have this game in it's grasp by the lunch break.
