Pies Keep Mouth Shut while Trading

I have been reliably informed that the pies have decided to keep everything in house this year as they endevour to enhance the list.

They were embarrased last year with the gehrig situation and have decided to shut up shop and not speak to journalists or anyone else.

An update on my earlier post regarding Heath Black.

He is getting paid a fortune to head to St-Kilda.
If C'wood had matched the offer Black would have been in the top 4 of highest paid players at the club. He would have overtaken Shane O'bree.

Well done pies build a club don't self destruct like St-Kilda is doing.

For the record Heath is earning around $1.1 million over 3 years.

Rhys Shaw was spoken to by Fremantle and asked if he would like to join Freo. His response, I would prefer to stay in Melbourne.

Prestigiacomo was offered to the blues for Porter, but it looks like he is part of the McKernan deal.

The reason Presti is up for trade is that pies feel that Jason Cloke can step up and take his spot assuming they get the player they want in a trade.

That's madness!! Sure Cloak might be able to step up, but what happens when Wakelin retires? And Richo? They don't have a whole lot of seasons left in them, unfortunately, and we need ANOTHER tall back to fill taht gap! Presti is a highly underated player, and to swap him for McKernan would be terrible. MAybe it's Mckernan and someone - hopefully not Mick Martyn, who is unhappy at North with his current deal.

I actually was meaning we couldn't get porter because he might go to kangas for Mckernan.

Brown26 I think Member means Porter is part of the McKernan deal, so either we'll have Presti or Porter, but not Corey...as member just pointed out (oops, too slow).

I like Presti, I want to keep this senior list together. if we could snag a big name it would be beaut, but I don't think we're willing to match the mad deals the Saints and others are offering.

I don't really care if we don't get Black. He is good and will get better, but he is obviously has the loser mentality. Why??? Well he is leaving one loser club to sign up with another. As for Presti, I agree that we should keep him, however i would not be surprised to see him used in some sort of deal to procure a key position player.
