In reality anything less than the grounds of the MCG splitting open and the fires of hell engulfing both teams will be a disappointment.

Interesting game, in the sense of showing what our rivals have prepared during the offseason. Richmond have prepared nothing new, and are embedded in the chaos and knock the ball forward at all costs mentality that won them three premierships. Carlton are very much wedded to a control-the-flow style game with precision kicking and marking, and then exploiting their pair of star tall forwards McKay and Curnow.
Lynch is Richmonds lynchpin...he saved them from defeat tonight.
Martin looked threatening in the first half, but faded out in the second half.
Summary: richmond have not added very much to what they had last year.
Carlton looked improved in their ability at times to control the game.
Overall, I would say that Carlton has made more progress than Richmond in the offseason.

yeah best result a draw.

Neither team looked good.

I reckon the tigers will miss the finals.

Great crowd but the game was horrible to watch.

Was pretty lack lustre from both blues and tigers.

But a draw is the best result.

Blues play cats next at the mcg friday night while tigers travel to adl to play the crows. Im tipping the crows to get over the tigers next week.

I was half tempted to throw $10.00 for the draw; what would the draw have paid mate?
