Thanks D B. Pretty sure there’s a new rule that allows Carmichael to play in the VFL having already been the tactical sub in the AFL. That decision is made at the clubs discretion and given he only played a quarter last night, I would think there’s every chance he gets decent minutes today ( unless he pulled up sore ) I remember reading the rule change and thinking that’s just a common sense outcome for the benefit of all involved.

Given Carmichael didn't play at any level last week and only got a run for 1 quarter last night I don't see how he's in any less need of minutes than McInnes.

I hope he puts his hand up to play.

I'm sure Carmichael will play.

It will be interesting to see how Steen goes. Fly seems hesitant to play him too early, in case it sets back his development and confidence. However, if he rips it apart today, he may well convince Fly to give him a go.

Currently losing the hitouts 18 to 8 but the clearances are even. Qtr time. Pies 7.2 (Reef 2 goals, Ginnivan, Carmichael, Glover, Harrison and Allan 1 apiece), Port 2.3. Jakob Ryan, who looked a prospect last week, has backed up with 10 first quarter disposals. Ruscoe and Bianco have had 9 and Carmichael and Allan have had 8.

It’s worth noting Steene is up against Sam Naismith tonight. Former Sydney Swans player and man mountain, so Steene is on a steep learning curve.
Jacob Ryan looks a serious player. There’s a bit of Maynard about him the way he attacks the ball and takes the game on.

Collingwood back out to a 34-point lead, after Port got within a goal. 14.3 to 8.5, a little over halfway through the 3rd. Reef has 3 goals, Macrae 2. Ryan has had 20 disposals. Markov, Macrae and Allan have had 17 and Ruscoe and Bianco have had 16. Naismith has had 38 hitouts, Steene 12 (and he has just kicked a goal). We're getting shaded in the clearances but that's not terrible, given the ruck is being lost 45 hitouts to 16.

Steen would get monstered by Brisbane’s two rucks. Ed
Allen looked terrific as did Ryan. (Had a screen on at work last night & Sat about a 1/2 all up.

No mention of Ginnivan suggests he didn't do enough in the VFL?

Watched the game. Ginny 10 touches and a goal. Minimum impact game from him. Did try to start a fight at every opportunity. His opponents were into him as expected.

Would say no chance for AFL recall just yet.

Ed Allen is special. Jakob Ryan looks the goods.
Reef comes in for Cameron.
