Would be insane to throw Kreuger just back from a longterm injury. He must accrue fitness and strength in the VFL first. No chance he will play in seniors on Sunday.

What would you expect from a player who has played 5 games in just over 12 months?
Without having played any format for 208 days and counting ;
With no match fitness ;
Having just resumed full contact training.
He'd be lucky to have the conditioning to run the drinks for a full match.

If we’re talking about comments on the injury report, I took it that “ possibly available “ was in reference to returning to the game in some form. By extension, I’d be very confident that return would start in the VFL, not the AFL. Doesn’t matter who are, you still have to go through the motions after a long lay off ( and that’s including virtually all of 2022 ) Kruegers time will come but it won’t be this weekend in the AFL.

Very much so. Suspect by the mid-season break he'll have at least have put some games into his legs, and all going well post surgery his shoulder will have been able to stand up to the rigours of senior football.

Nathan Krueger, who is a chance to be available for the forthcoming weekend, providing he gets through all training sessions this week.

I doubt his fitness would be an issue, he would have been running for ages, it's only the contact work that he's been held back from until recently.

Didn't he come straight back to the AFL in a final last year after injury?

Would be shocked if Kreuger comes in - I keep thinking about the coach saying he wants to set up players to succeed. A premature recall would surely be the opposite of that. A solid hit out in the twos and maybe he gets a recall for ANZAC Day off a longer break.

Then again he's not really a proper ruckman either (is he??).

He may well have to become one if he wants a place in the team. He's not going to keep Checkers, McStay or Johnson out of the team so maybe he is trying to oust Cox?
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Playing in the VFL for the worst side in the comp! But apparently not doing too badly there:

Silvagni is only 194cm and is at centre bounces with Pittonet out of the game.

AJ can do a similar role over the next few weeks.

And we'll suffer the same fate as Carlton. They are getting smashed in the clearances.

TBH, O'Brian played a brilliant game throughout.
When Carlton lost Pittonet, they did not have a plan B to counter O'Brian. He played a brilliant game, not just in the ruck itself, but in his influence across the ground.
Adelaide also had two rucks: O'Brian and Pickford, which enabled them to rotate both and smother D'Iacconi.
St Kilda only have Marshall, which plays in our favour.
Admittedly, against Essendon on Anzac Day, where they have two rucks, we will need to develop a strategy to at least degrade this advantage. But one step at a time. We have time to develop a response to essendon's double ruck advantage.
We won't suffer Carlton's fate against St Kilda because:
a) our midfield will not be so ineffectual as Carlton's was for most of tonight
b) our intensity and pressure across the field will be several levels greater than that of Carlton
c) St Kilda has only one ruckman, who is a dominant ruckman, but we have two ruckmen (Frampton and Johnson) who together can provide a contest.

“Yep run straight at them and sit them on their arse” said Bruzz

So refreshing listening to him. No frills just what ya get

Grundy has had 5 kicked on him already, not even half time.

Thank for he’s gone. He’s hopeless.
