The head to head’s getting a bit lop sided in our favour. That’s why the umpires were trying to even up the score today.

Remarkable that Buckley never won it despite playing nine Anzac Day matches (for five wins, a draw and three losses). Picked up 37 disposals and 2 Brownlow votes in 2003, but we lost by 66 points, and Sav Rocca (helped, no doubt, by excellent service from Buckley) kicked bags of 9 and 7 respectively in his other two Brownlow-scoring outings.

Otherwise we've had quite a spread there! Some players I don't recall having won at all (Johnson, Medhurst, Treloar).

Great post P4S.

Worth mentioning that Tarrant, with 5 goals (2001) is the only player to have won the ANZAC medal from the losing (we lost by 8 points) side.

I remember Medhusrts vividly, kicking 6 goals in one of his best games for the club.

Before the start of the 2011 ANZAC Day match, the AFL presented retrospective ANZAC Medals to their intended recipients for all of the matches prior to the introduction of the Medal in 2000. One of the 5 Keily & myself have been lucky enough to be at (4 wins and the draw)

Turd has 4, hasn't he? I suppose Pendlebury still has another decade to equal that, at least

Thanks for clearing that up. As much as I dislike the man, he was a bloody brilliant footballer. Would've been the difference on at least a couple of occasions. One would have to wonder now though, what exactly fuelled him?
