I'd completely forgotten about those.

I remember when they were redoing the bar in the SC, maybe around '98, and they were serving cans from those old plastic rubbish bins.
I think they underestimated the amount of beer consumed in there, we were literally wading through empty cans at calf deep by half-time.
The old Thorn TV they used to raffle was an interesting day when a North Melbourne supporter won it and wouldn't donate it back.

Can't have been too much beer consumed. I would have been more worried if you were wading through empty cans at half deep by calf-time.

Mixed emotions but my most memorable time at vic park was in 1994.
Married that year.
Watched us come so bloody. close against wet toast and go down by 2 points in Perth. Had tickets booked to fly to Melbourne regardless.
Went to Vic Park to visit.
Being from WA it was just an experience to be there.
Even when no football was being played.
Walked the ground and soaked it all up.
Went into the club and thought Id grab a beer.
Was served by non other than Gavin Crosisca who was working the bar.
Could not believe it.
He was brilliant.
Had a yarn.
Sipped a beer with the great man at our great club.

Must have been awesome experience. I have met him a few times at the old Collingwood jumper presentation nights at Crown casino and he was always pleasant to talk to.

1991 collingwood Richmond game... the Tigers grannies had their deck chairs set up on the boundary in the outer. They had more balls than keno, which we told them. One hit me over the head with her umbrella. Loved it.

The old folks would remember the Collingwood ladies, on the side of the opposition players race at vic park, who used to hit them over the heads with their brollys

I remember Vic Park from the late 60s. The football sometimes disappearing over the fence.

I started barracking for Collingwood after seeing them get smashed by Essendon on TV. My brother was quite brutal to the Maggies, so I naturally sided with the underdog...and that's how it started.

To Vic Park, I remember the long drive across Melbourne before the freeways existed. My brother who was much taller than me punching me on the arm each time Essendon kicked a goal. That day it was a draw.

I also remember Peter McKenna kicking a point and returning to CHF. He turned around and the full back had just kicked the ball precisely to where he was. McKenna marked and proceded to kick the goal! Thank you I thought. I also remember Len Thomson being so dominant and wondering why the opposition kicked the ball to anywhere he was, as he marked absolutely everything. Also remember Jerker Jenkins and Tuddy, and the Richardson brothers.

Another day, someone from Essendon put fire to the Collingwood banner. That drew a lot of outrage. I'm sure some of you may remember that.
