Appears Macrae is out for a month following hand surgery from an injury sustained in the Sandy VFL game last week. Bad time of year for Macrae either way. With all the resignings in the last fortnight, might be the last time we see Macrae on the field in black and white unless he really wants to stay.
Will be a good opportunity for Carmichael, Bianco, Allan, Harrison, Draper, Ginnivan, Kelly, Murley and Richards to step up

Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Never 100% certain of the authenticity of the whisper doing the rounds but it seems highly probable that Macrae will not be at Collingwood next year. Although he wants to stay, he just cannot find the opportunity to play senior football which he wants to do. Sometimes our strength works against us
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm

He's a good player, too good for VFL but we just don't have a spot for him. I'm not even sure if his strengths are suited to our game plan. He's an accumulator, that seems to me to be his standout trait. He doesn't have serious pace, he's not an inside contested beast, he's not an outstanding distributer.
He's a very good footballer, doesn't have many weaknesses but he's a bit vanilla (no disrespect intended) and there's nothing about him screaming that he should be pushing someone else out.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

This will be an interesting game with Frampton, Johnson and Ginnivan in the team. Glad to see Nev Jetta back in.
Great conditions for footy, hopefully the Pies can get their running game going and get a good start.
Pies need to win to keep finals hopes alive.
I am out for most of the afternoon, so will have to rely on score checks.

Watched most of it online.
Johnson played OK...didn't dominate by any means.
Ginni's game was so-so, certainly not banging the door down.
Won well on the back of team effort, even performances all round, Kelly looked alright at stages, but enough to save him? Time will tell.
Bianco was the BOG for mine, and a lot closer to senior selection that any others...that being said, he has his limitations, but he gets involved more than anyone else out there in line for selection

I've no doubt Ash is a class above and is crucial to our finals prospects, so well done lad. Ginni still has time to find ways of being involved in four quarters; keep at it, son.
Kelly's game is a huge bonus, and you have to give the lad absolute credit for keeping at it despite his horrid run of bad luck. Bianco, Ruscoe, McInnes, Carmichael and Kreuger are also names that need to keep thereabouts, so that's more good news.
Also appreciate the insight, Ronnie.

Pies move to 10th on the ladder. Still a couple of games in this round but the Pies will retain their spot on the top ten and have a game in hand (several teams are still to have their final bye).

I've heard that the biggest knock on Ruscoe is that he misses easy targets, even over short distances. Have a look at Carlton's second goal at he 9 minute mark of the game. Under no pressure, he misses a Collingwood player from about 20 metres and hits a Carlton player on the chest.
The turnover leads directly to the goal.
A shame, because there is a lot to like about Ruscoe. If that is indeed a pattern in his game then he needs to fix it asap otherwise he won't make it as a senior AFL player.
