I didn’t hear it but do you think that he would get a “please explain” letter from the Godfathers at the AFL who don’t deal well with umpire criticism.
I hope he does. Nice guys generally finish last.

No mention of Mitchell in the injury report, so I’m guessing he’s good to go too.

The more I think about it, the less I think Cox will return this week. Given the expected return of Frampton, having Cameron, Cox and McStay as well, would make us top heavy. I think Fly might give Johnson one more chance to prove his worth, while allowing Cox another week to gain touch and confidence, dominating the ruck in the VFL. We need run and speed. While there's a chance Murphy can get up for Friday night, I'd rather rest him and ensure he's cherry ripe the following week.

As it seems Finn Macrae is a chance to return, I'd pick him to replace Nick Daicos, and bring in WHE as well.

Out: N. Daicos (inj), Murphy (inj), Mitchell (rested)

In: Frampton, Macrae, WHE.

I'd start with Markov and have Macrae as the sub.

Hawkins is a chance to play.
Yep if he plays for sure I'd go with that Matchup. But I wouldn't bring in Cox as well. Unless another big goes out.

I thought the reason (in part) we recruited Frampton was to handle the “monster” FF’s and free up Darcy.

If Hawkins doesn’t play, does he have the mobility to take Cameron? I’m not sure he does.

Thoughts?

There aren’t many who can handle Cameron. He’s an agile, endurance beast. Sadly, Frampton isn’t. Cameron moves around that much, he will have different opponents for different parts of the ground. It’s going to be a tough night in the coaches box trying to keep Jezza quiet.

Moore as our best tall defender should surely take Cameron.

Time for him to step up.

Frampton may yet be required for Hawkins and that would suit him more.

I would select him regardless of whether Hawkins plays as we need to find out what he has to offer as a key defensive anchor

Forget trying to rush a 50/50 Murphy back.

Use our depth.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

I don't think the club should consider playing Nathan Murphy this week. I hope they give Murphy a weeks rest to fully recover from his ankle injury and instead play Frampton and Ruscoe this week to beef up the backline and give us the flexibility to move Howe to the forward line.
The inclusion of Frampton and Ruscoe should also allow Jack Crisp to move into the midfield to cover for the loss of Nick Daicos.
I'd also like to see Mitchell rested. He definitely has a bad corked right thigh and I suspect his drop off in performance is linked to carrying injury into games. Fly Macrae seems reluctant to rest injured players which given the state of the team position and available depth is crazy.
I'd pick the following team for this week;
B: Maynard, Frampton, Howe
HB: Noble, Moore, Quaynor
C: Sidebottom, Adams, J.Daicos
HF: McCreery, Mihocek, Hill
F: Carmichael, McStay, Elliot
R: Cameron, DeGoey, Pendlebury
IC: Crisp, Cox, Ruscoe, Hoskin-Elliot
Sub: Markov
Emerg: Lipinski, McInnes, Harrison
In: Cox, Hoskin-Elliot, Ruscoe, Frampton
Out: Miitchell, Lipinski, N.Daicos, Murph

Moore best stays with Cameron & he needs to be on 100% (how I wish we had a player like that) anyhow, I agree with others re Frampton, we need to see what he brings to the table, otherwise why recruit him?

Still not sold on McStay, I feel the balance isn’t quite right when he plays.
