While it would be great to recruit a midfield clearance expert, I'm actually hopeful that we retain Finn Macrae and look to him and Ed Allan playing a lot of senior footy next year.

The Roar: Who your club is eyeing in this year's Trade Period
By Tom Morris

Collingwood

The Magpies are desperate for a forward and have had eyes on out-of-contract Port Adelaide tall Mitch Georgiades for a while. The biggest concern for the Pies is losing important depth to rival clubs. Trent Bianco and Jack Ginnivan (who is contracted) are already being scouted.

Now their salary cap is finally under control, the Pies can attack free agents, though it’s unlikely they would be able to pay the entire salary for a Lachie Whitfield type, who is locked into GWS but the sort of player the Magpies would like to add.

Bombers into McCrae Saints into McInnes. Norf into Ginnivan and Carmichael. Box Hill and Balwyn into Bianco. Take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks both - saved me from having to watch the whole video to hear the gossip. I feel a bit sorry for all of these boys. In a lot of other teams they would have played a lot of games this season.

It is, however, a testament to our trading last year that the guys we bought in have all become staples (for this season at least). Some important decisions to make in the next 6 months about that crop. Would hate to see any of them go on and play 200 games somewhere else, but I also understand they want to be playing - especially if they are a couple years into their careers.

We still have a couple guys we drafted last year (you think Ed Allen will get his chance, Ryan debuts Friday, not sure about Joe Richards) who will feel like 2024 is their year to get a go - hopefully a year of development gives them a better chance of success.

Question is do we keep our 20-22 year olds and bypass the draft this year? Or do we use some of those guys (I mean it in a nice way) and our draft hand to try and be more aggressive in trading?
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

If we are at the start of our premiership window and Geelong are at the end of theirs (if), what would Jeremy Cameron at full forward do for our chances?

After tonight’s effort, I don’t mind all the above players being traded or let go if they can get very high draft picks (top 15) or 2 established KPP’s who are willing to move to a club capable of winning the flag with them in the team.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

Suffer a career ending injury without even pulling on the jumper; my guess.

According to Triple M Perth on the #AFLFreoPort coverage - Collingwood is the preferred destination of Liam Henry.

How they could consider extending Kreuger is staggering. He is already on a 3 year deal with an allergic injury reaction every time he plays a game.

Much appreciated.
I didn't want to go through the whole chat show to get the Pies-related news.
