VFL pre-finals wildcard round

Post by David »

It’s confirmed now that we’ll finish 8th and play the winner of today’s match between Richmond and North Melbourne in the pre-finals knock-out round next weekend, if I’m looking at the ladder correctly. Win that and we go through to the finals proper the week after.

Do we have a preferred match-up out of those two?

For the VFL watchers - what are our chances against the Tigers?

Yep, we haven’t played the Tigers this year.
That is the ridiculousness of the VFL fixture, don’t play everyone once and have 4 byes.

Pies will go into the game with a couple of big wins compared to the Tigers.
Will come down to the team we can field - if McInnes and/or Ruscoe get called to the AFL that will put a dent in their chances.

At least one senior-listed Richmond player we won’t have to worry about facing this weekend:

Big loss for the Tigers. Sonsie has played some decent games of senior footy for the Tigers this season. Will be missed as a midfielder in their VFL team.

Looks like channel seven will be recording the Pies / Tigers VFL game on Sunday 27th starting at 12.00pm.

Same applied to the vfl w gf played port at port

I think I'd be happier to walk across the road to a place with actual seating for fans, personally...

All VFL finals games are played at venues where access can be controlled and patrons pay to get in.

That rules out the AIA Centre.
