Not at all. Sadly.

The Doggies have 12 months to work out new deals for English and Naughton.

Collingwood reportedly showing interest in high-flying Dog

AFL Media’s Josh Gabelich reports that Western Bulldogs high-flyer Buku Khamis could be on the move this off-season.

"...I'm told that Collingwood has shown a little bit of interest, which if you think back to last year what they did with even a Billy Frampton … they’ve been really good at identifying roles."

Would he be good enough to push Ash out of a forward spot? Maybe the speculation is right, bring him in to develop him as a back / replacement for Howe.
Bloody insult being kept out of a regular spot by Rory Lobb!

These fringe players are our most probable targets in the coming off season.
We invested heavily in plug and play types last year and it’s not often clubs are in a position to be that active again in consecutive off seasons ( unless it’s the start of a total rebuild ). Truth is, we have little trade currency and that doesn’t change unless we were to trade out an existing best 22 player.
Khamis is a talented player and your proverbial athletic utility ( he also plays a bit like Jaith at the Hawks ) who had a great U18 championship but stagnated a bit in his last couple years at the Dogs. No doubt Beveridge would have already put a label on his abilities but he strikes me as the type who could grow and develop at another club.
We could do worse than add to him to the list for a minimal trade and an incentive based contract. They’re out there, you just need to identify them correctly.

Just a hunch but something tells me Dees will be cornering the market for a tall mobile effective goal kicker….just saying

I’d say if someone like Naughton for instance was available they name their price and Dees (cashed up after Grundy goes and Brayshaw retires

Any interest in Tomilinson for Frampton role on gorilla power forwards? Is he big enough?

I suppose with Harmes and Jordan going they can afford to keep him, he'd be an upgrade on Frampton

I see Brynn Teakle as a possible hidden gem. A 204 cm ruckman delisted by Port Adelaide. Is he worth serious consideration? A calculated risk?

Don't think a playing roster can afford to have 3 project playing bigs on its list. Begg, Steene and Teakle would seem overkill.

Begg and Steene are all the project rucks we need going forward. What we are crying out for are 3 positions: a genuine big power forward, a strong bodied A grade midfielder and a full back.

It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you... without a dope beat to step to...

Free Agents:
For me, Doedee is a pass. Will be 27 with 2 knee recos to his name. Will already miss the first half of 2024 and who knows how he'll recover? He's been talked about as a replacement for Howe, but I'm not so sure. I'd need convincing. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players ... oedee.html

I'd say we're out of the running for James Jordon as he isn't filling an urgent need for our list. But as a kick in the guts to the Dees, it would be a nice signing. Ben McKay and Jade Gresham also look like non-Collingwood targets, but both players fill a need on the list.

Deos anyone actually want to go for Boak. In a coaching capacity, its a yes, but does he have anything left in the tank as a player? Would he be playing these finals if we had him now? Yes the window is open, but how many 35 year olds can one have? https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players ... _Boak.html

Then there's Todd Goldstein. Not sure if Goldy offers a lot now that he's 35 too. Would he be playing these finals if we had him right now? Cameron-Cox are our guys atm. Begg is one to watch coming up. Who is our current ruck coach? I'd like to have a backup ruck on the list that is ready to play when needed. But is there another option? Do we need to address other needs first? https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players ... stein.html

Delisted Free Agents:
As more delistings happen, perhaps another name of interest will come up. But for now, Jackson Hately is one DFA that interests me. The worrying sign is that he walked out on GWS to go home to SA and the Crows have now delisted him. So he's been let go by 2 clubs without much fuss. He is a 191cm hard bodied mid. Was pick 14 in 2018 draft and will turn 23 in October. Is there an injury history? Is he not up to it? https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players ... ately.html

I think Riley Bonner might get looked at. 26, 190cm Defender/Mid. In and out of Ports team this year, but a regular the 2 seasons prior. His numbers for this season were not great compared to previous seasons; https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players ... onner.html

Sam Petrevski-Seton is also a pass for me. But I will be interested to see if he gets to a third club.

Trade Targets:
Paddy Dow is a pass for me. Likely to get to the Saints. Ratugolea was someone I thought looked pretty good in defence until he completely ballsed it up and helped cost Geelong the game against us a few weeks back. Port can have him. Zerk-Thatcher too. Scott Lycett is also a pass for me. He was good 5 years ago. He's passed it now. But we do need to address our ruck issue.

Buku Khamis is someone the club seems to have highlighted. Ok go for it then. A nice cheap trade shall do it.

We've been linked to Max Holmes and Jhye Clarke from Geelong. We've been lightly linked to Bailey Smith and even Aaron Naughton from the Bulldogs. I dont know if I can see any of that happeneing! I think we simply dont have the picks to get any of this going. Say goodbye to Fin Macrae and Reef McInnes and current and future picks... and thats just the starting point.

As mentioned in another thread, there's a possibility that Trey Ruscoe and Arlo Draper are traded. Ruscoe to WCE was what I heard, but would he be interested in Freo if we were interested in Liam Henry? But are we interested in Liam Henry?? And do we prefer to keep Arlo and Trey?

Our Boys:
Personally, I would keep Bianco. But would he be happy to move to the rookie list if other clubs offer more opportunity? Krueger is another I would like to keep, but move to the rookie list. Has Will Kelly run out of time? At best, he gets a rookie contract.

Begg is someone I really want to keep at the club. He has something. Steene, Wilson, Murley are three rookie listed players that I think we can do without.

Essendon's gonna get him. Annoying.... 'cos it's an idea. Yeah, he's old, but...

On Gettable, Twomey said it'll be a "merry-go-round" of mediocre ruckmen.
