Didn’t we get Jack and the draft pick that brought DeGoey from that Beams trade ? Even after we effed it up by taking back the, erm, “artist” from the Lions five years later, we are still way in front on that deal.

He even overcame the one past knock on him, with his kicking at times elite this year.

In fact, so good were our senior mids in the finals, the opposition had the one advantage they assumed they had taken away.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

I'll see if I can download the grab, but the discussion in "On The Couch" regarding Jack Crisp's no.3 position in the ranking of best finals players of the modern era . Speaks volumes of how good this bloke has been to us.

Cool, calm and Crisp: The 50-meter goal no one is talking about
If you were told to pick a favourite moment from the 2023 Grand Final, you’d more than likely go to the fourth quarter.

Jack Crisp’s 2023 stats:

* Played every game in 2023
* Ranked #5 at Collingwood for disposals
* Best Finals Player
* Ranked #2 at Collingwood for tackles

Tim Watson doesn’t think Collingwood’s Jack Crisp gets enough credit for his performances in big games.

The storyline from the 2023 finals series that didn’t get enough attention

^ I think Crisp was our best performing player through all three finals.

I agree he doesn't get enough recognition by the broader footballing public.

'Jack Crisp believes his stint as a Collingwood backbencher was the circuit-breaker he needed to rediscover the form that has made him a two-time best and fairest winner at the Magpies.

Speaking after the Pies’ nail-biting five-point win against Hawthorn in Adelaide, the utility said he was battling with being asked to play a variety of roles and his form subsequently suffered.
...

“I was happy to take [being sub] on board if that is what the coach wanted,” Crisp said. “I’ve been thrown around different spots as well so I found that a bit challenging, [not] knowing if I am playing mid, or wing, being a forward at times or defender.”'

Steynes 244
Yze 226
Crisp 221*
Unfortunately, I have heard Melbourne supporters say their team will make sure this record doesn't fall. Funny how they think that would be acceptable.

Hopefully he can at least pass Yze in the coming weeks. We play Melbourne twice before the end of the season, and there's always a chance we could meet sometime in September too.
