TRADE TALK:

I've listened (read: read) to everything that you's have posted over the last few days and thought, as a lot of you have already mentioned, this is ridiculous.
2 Things:

A: I don't think the Pies have the room to move (re: salary cap) that some of us might think. It's easy to say we want Misti, Everett, Black etc etc, but you just gotta be able to fit them in. To pick up someone like the above we would have to get rid of someone on big bucks (sorry Nathan, that is dollars). They won't do that.
B: It seems to be apparent that Mick and the coaching staff (no, not Eddie) are keen to keep the list that we have as it is; an EXCITING list. Look at the possible team, when they all get on the park and ALL the kids have played a few games. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm sure you will, but:

Clement (resting tagger; eg play on Hird, Kouta etc) BP
Wakelin (personally, I said PERSONALLY, I think this is our biggest weakness) FB
Burns ( to play on the sneaky small forwards, you know those p$%^*s that have a history of giving us grief in big games (remember that bugger Cuthbertson or whatever in '88), Farmer, R Burns, Lappin etc) BP
Lockyer (has the ability to play off a HBF as a defensive player but also can be moved into the middle as a running type, he's run of HB is a huge asset) HBF
Richardson (probably our best CHB but surely Kinnear will be THE man in a few seasons, needs to toughen up though Ben) CHB
Freeborn (I think he's a good solid player, provides run but can also play a defensive role very well, a premiership player too, can't say that about many of our players) HBF
YOUNG GUN Lonie (I think would be suited to this posi to use his long kicking as well as his apparent inability to match it with some of the good forwards of other teams. In saying that, give him 2-3 years and they'll use him in the backline once he matures) W
Buckley (I think he's best position, but also read BP, FB, HBF, CHB, W, HF, CHF, FP, FF, R, RR, R etc etc etc) C
Licuria (personally, I think as our reigning B+F, the wing would be a great posi for him, not a fast player as wingers usually are, but stamina man, stamina stamina stamina) W
CLoke (I, remember I, think you've gotta give this guy game time now, while the D9 is in the vicinity. Play tall b/c one we can and two a midfield/ forward crumbers will become/ are the best in the comp) HFF
Rocca (look, we all know when he's bad he;'s bad, but Sh*t, when he's good, he wins games off he's own boot, lets just hope he can get some more consistency, like we've been saying for 2 years) CHF
Nick Davis (would definitely start in this position but would drift into the middle as a winger and swap with the YOUNG GUN) HFF
Malloy (D9, need I say more. Protector of the young guns in the forward line. Rocca should take note) FP
Tarrant (will kick 200 in a few years) FF
L (Neon, sorry Leon) Davis (A star, the new breed of resting rover slash small forward) FP
Fraser (Brownlow Medalist 2003, nothing much to say 'ere) Ruck
Didak (will slowly become a RR, but Clement will have to move into the centre if Hird or Kouta go there leaving this man on the bench{ see I/C if this happens}) RR
O'Bree (gotta become more consistent, I know only young, but the future of the club) Rover
Interchange (I/C)
Adkins (shows so much potential it's scary) I/C
Johnson (as mentioned previously, if Hird or Kouta play centre, this guy to the BP area and Didak off) I/C
C Rintoul (I'm a fan but I think the jury is still out. Played well in first half until injured, let's see what he can do next year b4 we assess properly) I/C
Holland (gun, although has flaws in his game that need to be eradicated. Will swap with Leon when he plays Rover {resting} and O'b comes off for a breather) I/C

So there you have it. What do you reckon. We need more players? I don't think so, yet. Give them all another year until we make the assessment. That's why I don' think we will be major players in the trade week. These guys above are too valuable.

Richards (our next ruckman to let Frase play Forward)
Dimmatina (if Clement gets injured or we need two taggers. Get rid of Steinfort)
Kinnear (yes, the biggest "leave out". Where would YOU put him? In place of Cloke? Yeah maybe, but they got to bring hime in at some stage, I think replacing either Richo or Wakelin)
Roach (could someone pls tell me about this guy, I haven't seen him at Willi)
Stone (read: Roach)
Shaw (need's to have a big pre-season to overtake our mosquito fleet like Holland, Davis , O'Bree, Lonie etc etc)

This is a challenge, what do you like/ not like about the team?

about danny - when hes been able to play hes played well, usually plays CHB, hes been injured tho.

At the end of the day we need a team where their priority is the Collingwood FC not where they can get a drink at the end of the game. That's why I didn't feel Michael was a big loss.

Keep Lockyer, Fraser, Burns, Bucks, Rocca.

Sounds good to me - but Presti fullback.

Lonie off the HB flank too, he's a gun running flanker. Sorry Freeborn. Leaves wing open for Ben Johnson. Also, Buckley on the ball, but that's much for muchness with thouse little guys. Cloak HFF? I see him more in defense, but it's a big ask for a young guy. 4th tall though, behind presti, richo, kinnear (obviusly one would be on the IC so burns, locks and lonie would also have a spot!)

nice thought though - but to the future, we still have an ageing backline. Kinnear and Cloak need to step into those spots this year so richo and wakelin can go and not leave gaps.
