Leigh Matthews presenting Premiership Cup for Lions

Post by maurs64 »

Anyone else feeling Brisbane could have picked someone better than Leigh Matthews? Let's face it, he could present the cup to whoever wins really. Are there no former Fitzroy/Bears/Lions players that would have been a better choice? Thoughts?

I don't see an issue.

He was a 3x Premiership coach with the Lions, so his link to them will always be significant.

Leigh on Footy Classified Wed. said 1990 is his favourite flag (out of 8 ).

Also said whoever has him at the moment has him 100%. (So that's Brissy right now.)

Yep 1990 for sure.

Its was Peter Moore that presented the 2023 cup to son Darcy for Collingwood

The good news for the Lions is that, if they ever make another Grand Final, they can still ask Leigh (if he is still with us).

So, anyway, did anyone see Leigh's performance on the day? How'd he go giving the Cup to the Lions?
