We fell over again. Gave a future first against our wishes and Taylor Adams effectively. We are the "kings of kindness" in Trade Period. But, at least we get get him. Should have asked for their pick 46 this year back or future third.

Hardly fell over. Future first hopefully will be pick 18 next year and 34 is what we got for Adams, which will end up about 40 this year. Adams may not have played next year anyway with injuries and opportunities.
Wrighty just gets it done and stays in the moment.
Wright has a very strong reputation. He is pragmatic enough to get the deal done. It means when he's on the other end teams aren't immediately defensive. Will stand us in good stead. Happy with this.
Lachie Schultz was born and raised in Moama, New South Wales. He played junior football for Moama Magpies in the Murray Football League before transferring to the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup. Following high school graduation, he moved to Melbourne and played 37 games for Williamstown in the VFL over the next two seasons. He was drafted to Fremantle with the 57th selection in the 2018 national draft after being voted one of the better players in the VFL.
I think we were bent over in both the Schultz and Adams trades. However the glow of a premiership offsets these. In the end the difference between these trades and a good trade is probably minimal - getting their third rounder this year would have made it palatable and getting something extra from the swans also would have made it palatable. The reality of two extra picks in the low forties/high fifties probably reduces the likelihood of a gun player anyway
I do wonder what it does for our chances of a big fish now that we dont have a first rounder next year.
If Ben King came to us (for instance), I cant imagine Gold Coast letting him go for an end of first round choice which if we win the premiership next year is the best we would get. We wont be able to offer our first pick next year and the year after as compensation
Painful frustrating disappointing exhilarating and unbelievably awesome. - That's a Collingwood life through and through
I can live with the future first given we've just won the flag and are loading up for another shot.
More annoyed that we had to include the Adams compensation also rather than our later second round selection.
Not a deal breaker, however. LOL.
Ah well at least we get to play with our "1st" round selection this year and bring someone else in 12 months earlier.
The reality is Adams is gone and more importantly Elliott is a year-on-year proposition given his age.
Schultz improves us next year and is automatic cover for Jamie once he calls time.
I think there’s a bit of bird in the hand with this trade.
Dockers didn’t have to trade him this year and even if he’s a free agent next year, who is to say he would come to Collingwood when it’s all about best offer. We identified our man and we got him. Next !
