So another season playing VFL is going to enhance his trade currency? C'mon man. There is no way on this blue earth a list manager or player manager would be not willing to get this deal done.
Moving him on will not impact our side, the quicker it gets done the better for all concerned.
probably not, but id like the club to play hard ball. if hes not costing much, make him play vfl. im pissed off to the max!
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Ever stop and think, just consider for a second, that him going might actually solve a headache for Wrighty? Just an alternate view, that’s all.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

That's the mail isn't it coach. I'd be looking for a player swap. He's already contracted to us for next year and a future pick is speculative. Surely Hawthorn has an extra player somewhere they might be interested in swapping - perhaps a defender to cover for the loss of Murphy (if he is forced to retire). But I agree we now have plenty of small forwards.
I'd certainly ask the question on James Blanck or Josh Weddle.
Time is against us though.

Exactly. No need to panic the club knows what it's doing. Stephenson won the rising star and then did SFA. How's he going at North now?

Negotiating tactic. Of course knowing what we know now, we want to release him.

So to make a point, you’d have a toxic influence in the locker room for another whole season, at which time you get absolutely nothing for the guy when he’s delisted? I think they call that cutting off your nose to spite your face! To be clear - I don’t know if he’s toxic, but it’s just as likely as him being a top bloke isn’t it?

Agreed re time and exactly why it's been engineered that way.

I’m guessing the exit review went like this

Ginni: I’m sick of being sub, I’m starting 22.
Club: You’re dreaming until you put the work in and do this, this and this. You’re not meeting your markers.
Ginni: *calls his manager*

I like the kid, supported him through the worst of it, but gee the writing is on the wall here

Sadly, can’t happen. 2 year minimum for draftees. He was drafted last year.
They might ask about Grainger - Barras but the reality is you hardly ever see player only trades these days.

Yep - compare him to Noble who has worked his guts out and fought his way into the team.

I feel even worse for Noble now, he thoroughly deserved a medal. Didn’t throw a tantrum and demand a trade. He’s back at it working harder than ever

give the hawks a free player with huge untapped potential? no thanks, get Jaquie on the case a little harder first!

Hard for me to seperate the following two concepts:

* Footy is now a business and players change clubs with increasing frequency in pursuit of extra money and opportunity.

* Ginnivan is a Premiership player who has potentially 10 years ahead of him in the system if he knuckles down...

If he were thinking of leaving, surely he could have brought this up earlier with Collingwood. It is a shit act to spring it on the Pies with 26 hours to go in Trade Week.

If a player trade were facilitated, Denver Grainger Barass 195cms and 81kgs would be a handy back up defender (I would direct DGB to the nearest KFC to load up and put on some weight...
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...
