Well, Frampton's possession was contested. Ginni was the only player on the ground in the GF without a contested possession.Piesnchess wrote: Frampton says hello.

Unlike your precious little show-pony Billy did what was expected of him in a very disciplined performance, sacrificing his own game to stop one of Brisbane's best players having a big influence. What did your "superstar" achieve? (apart from make up the numbers).Piesnchess wrote:Gerry Cooper wrote:No contested possessions in a winning grand final team. Frampton says hello.

Cant hack the truth hey. OK let a kid go to the Hawks, whom we can never beat anyway, even this season, we lost, our record against Hawthorn is utter shit, we never beat em, ever hardly. Now this kid goes there, Mitchell straightens him right out, he really puts in, starts bagging lots of goals, -as he did for us in 2022-, Hawks make finals, so do we, we play them, Prelim, we lose by 3 goals , and he kicks 3 of em against us.
Will THAT make your day, then, ?? Be careful what you wish for, Karma can be a real bitch at times, sunshine.

^ Absolutely. Without Frampton dropping uncontested marks directly in front of goal and thereby making it extremely difficult for Brisbane to take our forwards seriously, we could never have won that Grand Final.
As for Billy's repeated holds on Andrews on the outer wing - they were masterstrokes: the best way to unsettle an intercepting defence is to gift them the ball unopposed. He did that manfully.

when you put it like that, he deserved the norm smithPies4shaw wrote:^ Absolutely. Without Frampton dropping uncontested marks directly in front of goal and thereby making it extremely difficult for Brisbane to take our forwards seriously, we could never have won that Grand Final.

Just so we're clear, my view is that we don't play favourites about premiership contributions. Otherewise, we quickly get into the area of asking whether so and so really deserved their medal at all. Frampton played a role. I have no idea whether he did it to the Coach's satisfaction - for all I know he might have exceeded expectations.Mr Miyagi wrote:when you put it like that, he deserved the norm smithPies4shaw wrote:^ Absolutely. Mitch Cleary has said Hawks have offered Ginni 4 years.
Which is why maybe his head has been turned, what would that mean for a trade?
We have up a future 1st and 34 for Schultz, as he's 25, contracted, kicked 30 goals this and last year, came 5th in there BnF, 2 time derby medalist
Ginni is 20, contracted, kicked 40 goals last year, 12 goals from 14 games this year, many as a sub, ANZAC Day medalist and premiership medalist. But comes with a bit of baggage.

What is the Dan McStay rumour?Haff wrote:Anyone else heard this Daniel McStay rumour? Doubtful it’s true..
Is the Ginnivan trade another example of the Anzac Day Medal curse on a rookie player. Hope he goes the way of Mark McGough if he does trade it. If he grew up a Hawk fanboy and wants to play for them so be it, lets win the trade this time.
Otherwise it sounds like he really needs to be straightened out once and for all.
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter
