Schultz is no doubt better than Ginni, but we gave up pick 34 and a future round 1 pick and Ginni
I dont think Schultz is N. Daicos 2.0 here lol
um.... go watch the highlights reels! Schultz tackles and THEY STICK LIKE SUPER GLUE!
he doesnt have to be Nick Daicos!
A forward that kicks the amount of goals he does and tackles almost as well as McCreery and can run through the canter plus has an established consistent record is a late first round pick for mine.
exactly!
hawks paid overs for Ginny! I'm actually shocked at the deal, i was expecting something totally different! ill take it! If he doesn't want to be at Collingwood, doesn't have the gumption to fight for his reputation, well **** him! Anyone got a ..party invite for him!!!!!
in Fly and Co we trust!!!

AND when the Hawks, our bogey team, beat us yet again, our record against them is shocking, they even defeated us this season, and he boots goals against us in a vital Final, we can be real happy hey ??
Which is predicated on them actually making finals and on recent performances that won't be any time soon (Maybe not before Hawthorn ships Ginnivan off to the Gold Coast).
Hawks beat BOTH Grand Finalists, BOTH, they have a youngish list, he only adds to it, I hope you are right, but this does not sit well with me.

There is a deeper story here.
Potentially as critical as, sack JG or lose the playing group, if any rumours are true.
Long and short, the new Collingwood hasn't put a foot wrong and I trust the management we have in place.
agree
In fact, without knowing the backstory, this may be a win for Collingwood and we owe Hawthorn a thank you - Graham Wright's skill might have shone through. Actually not kidding.
Everyone needs to take a moment to think about what's actually going on here.
totally agree!!

On the subject of being shocked - at first blush maybe - but factor in where our trade master made his name.
There will still be good will at Hawthorn for Wrighty.

Slight slight relief on deal. Getting a 6 spot bump this year to 33 helps given the suite of Gold Coast Academy picks and may see us bump that up to 28 in this years draft. The futures all depend on the Pies finishing considerably higher (vs Hawks ladder position) in 2024.
For example: Academy/Father Son picks aside
If Hawks finish 14th and Pies finish 3rd in 2024 the result would be:
* Pies would get Pick 23 and Hawks Pick 34 (Second Round)
* Pies would get Pick 41 and Hawks Pick 52 (Third Round)
* Pies zero Pick and Hawks would get Pick 70 (Fourth round)
I am feeling really saddened by this news. I obviously don't know the inside out of what Ginnivan is like behind the scenes but I felt he could have offered a lot to the Pies. After such a brilliant year this is a real let down moment for me.

So, WILL U BOOO JACK GINNIVAN NEXT SEASON AND BEYOND ??
I sure as hell will, boo loud enough, he might fall over. !!
You’ve changed your tune in record time.
Traitors and turn coats dont sit well with me, I wanted him to stay, now he has broken many little kids magpies hearts, including my two Nephews, No. 33 on their jumpers, got his autograph for them at York Hotel. No, im done, never seen Premieship player do this, 3 weeks after getting a medal, its a first. Stuff him, the Karma bus is on its way now, to the piss an poop, and him. hopefully.

I ran the numbers on the basis of us finishing 4th and hawks finishing 15th, works out to pick 25 which feels about right

Hopefully at minimum we can at least upgrade 39 to 33 as well.
