Hey Scott - here's a bucket of money to let opposition rucks jump into you for 2 years to protect Coxy and Darcy while Aiden and Oscar mature a bit further.

Another post from the fake Twitter account.

I'm all for "parody" accounts, no matter how dumb, but stuff like this is just lying for clicks and really should be taken down.

Pairing 10 delisted free agents with a new AFL team for 2024

10. Luke Foley --> Collingwood

The Magpies are set to explore the option of having recently delisted defender Will Kelly train at the club over the summer as part of the Supplemental Selection Period, and with a similar player like Foley also taking part in the summer program Collingwood could spark some competition for any vacant list spot.

Kelly's delisting could mean a positive outcome for premiership defender Nathan Murphy, whose future in the game has been placed in some doubt following another concussion in last month's grand final.

If Murphy is unable to start the next season, then a medium defender in Foley or Kelly, could be viewed as a potential depth replacement under Craig McRae. Foley is able to play taller than his 189cm frame and could be an astute bargain recruit for the Magpies to consider via delisted free agency or the SSP.

The Tom Browne twitter fake account spells tom broWWne with the 2 w's. Maybe the latest post is legitimate however thought Tom had hung up his journo hat and gone to Sydney to work for arrogant Andrew Pridham.

Anyway, in case anyone was still wondering, Lycett’s just announced his retirement: https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/two-club ... 378857.amp

Tom Highmore delisted by the saints today. He could be a low cost DFA or SSP signing as medium defensive cover. Played pretty well a few seasons ago but went nowhere under Ross this year, even despite their injury run. Worth a look at least

Since Lycett is retired... I've been looking at other DFA rucks... not much to see I'm afraid...

Maybe it's time to bring Jonathon Ceglar home... altho he's retired too.

I'm looking for someone that will not be the #1 ruck option, but will be able to play straight away if need be. Someone with some experience and someone that can hold their own.

Got fooled by a post from foxfooty.

It's 2024 PRE-Agents not FREE-Agents. So theoretically means nothing.

On the list; Sam Taylor (Yes please!), Bont (Yeah right), Oscar Allen (maybe), Sam Draper (yeah we'll have him), Ed Richards (sentimental pick), amongst others. But yeah... they're not actually free agents until 2025.

AFL delisted free agency state of play: The names set to earn lifelines and the others in the mix

A host of recently departed AFL players have already found new homes for 2024, with five of West Coast's six cut players already signing on elsewhere for next season...

Luke Foley (and Greg Clark) have returned to WAFL club Subiaco, while Connor West (West Perth) and Isiah Winder (South Fremantle) will also remain in WA.

Also
...Collingwood midfielder Arlo Draper (South Adelaide) have reunited with their old sides.

AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period 1 started today at 9am and runs until November 8. A second period runs on the 10th for the day. So we may hear some news in the next week regarding DFA's.

The draft is now under 3 weeks away.

So heard on triple mmm news this morning that Bailey Smith is off to NY for a training camp with Nick Daicos over the off season. Now I think they may have set up an alcoholic drinks business together, but I’ll tell myself that when he leaves the dogs at the end of ‘24 (and he will) we’re a live chance to get him. Not our number one priority, but in the right environment could be the kind of midfield replacement we will soon need.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...
