Round 5 will be our 1st BYE round ;
Round 15 will be our 2nd BYE round ;
We have a combined 7 Thursday and Friday night games ;
We will have one 5-day break ;
We will play Brisbane, Carlton, Hawthorn, Sydney, Melbourne and Essendon twice ; We will play 14 games at the MCG ;
We will play 3 games at Marvel.
The ladder is broken into 3 groups of 6 ~ top, middle and bottom.
The frequency of games against teams in those bands is governed by the previous seasons finish.
'Collingwood have been given a draw that will likely please both their commercial and football departments. Though they play the Lions, Carlton, Sydney and Melbourne twice, the Magpies leave the MCG only once after round 16 heading into September while byes in rounds five and 15 give their conditioning staff more flexibility in managing the workloads of their veterans. Their seven Thursday and Friday night matches are bettered only by the Blues, and they again feature on Anzac Day and King’s Birthday, the latter as the home team.' The Age 16/11/2023
3 games at marvel, definite miss for me. Only one real Thursday game at this stage, against the Saints. The Brisbane one is up there and the Essendon one is ANZAC day.
Looks like there has been an effort put in to keep us away from the MCG, 12 games there this year.

Apologies if this has already been discussed here but what the fudge is a “round zero” and why do we have to have one?
For all that is holy, why? Makes about as much sense as menus without prices, cryptocurrency, celebrating your first birthday a year after you’re born, and Carlscum in prime time????
Whoever’s responsible is either a complete moron or some sort of mad flipping genius…undecided which

Ah, Yeah, thanks, sort of got that part…..but why ‘zero’ round?
Why isn’t it just round 1?
Is it like any other round?
Do you still get the 4 points for a win?
What’s the rationale to calling it ‘zero’ round?
If there’s no logical rationale for it being ‘zero’ round, why not call it ‘pork chop round’ or ‘in your face NRL round’?
‘Zero’ round is crazy talk…simply just doesn’t make sense.
