* Averaged 12.4 disposals

About 10 years ago I was in Tasmania for a speech contest. I had some downtime on the Saturday afternoon so I watched part of an AFL game between GWS and Carlton. Carlton got smashed by about 10 goals which was nice. There was one player who was head and shoulders above everyone else on the ground. He dominated and was unstoppable. His name - Adam Treloar. The only other player of note who was clearly 2nd best on the ground was a highly skilled player called Will Hoskin-Elliott. I remember thinking - Gee, I wish they played for us!

Guessing it must have been this one here, Harry? (I believe this was one of only two matches Treloar and Hoskin-Elliott both played in against Carlton while at the Giants; the other was in 2014 and GWS only won by 8 points.)

Speaking of which, here's a trivia question: which was the last opponent Adams, Hoskin-Elliott and Treloar played in the same team against while the three of them were at the Giants?

Not Collingwood, was it?!

WHE got wiped out by Blair in one game. (Accidental, I think. Not reportable.)

Hello K. Thank you for your enquiry. I think that my speech was titled "The Pursuit of Happiness".

How did I go? Well, I didn't get a place, but it was a final and I was up against some of the best speakers in Australia so I was happy to participate.

So happy for WHE that he was best on ground (according to several media, though not the coaches' votes). :)

I saw something where Fly referred to WHE as our Swiss Army Knife.

Best on ground on Saturday. Galvanised us when the team was down.

21 disposals, 13 score involvements, 9 marks and 2 goals.

^Yeah, great to see him lead from the front like that. It was funny, I was only thinking he looked more mature in face and body, and then he goes and plays accordingly, lifting the team when it was down.

When he was younger he could frustrate by drifting in and out of games, but you've got to love a player who sticks with the team, never complains, having been there through thick and thin, cops it on the chin and as Fly said, is willing to fill any role as needed for the team. Now add the premiership and his role in defence at times in the finals (am I right in recalling that?), and seeing him step up to lead in a new season hints at a new chapter in his story.

He also strikes you as such a likeable and admirable lad. Yet another great story under Fly.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

WHE and Crisp are both our "Swiss army knives". They each are capable of playing in virtually any position (apart from the ruck) on the field with aplomb. The only other player we have like that is Nick Daicos who can play in defence, up forward or in the midfield. The one advantage over Naicos that WHE and Crisp have is their added height and marking ability.

WHE has sacrificed his elite talents for the betterment of the team since 2018. Think about 2018 for a moment: 42 goals!!!! As a floating third forward. Last week against Port reminded us all what X Factor talent he possesses when given the keys to a position that allow that to reign!!
